2014-2017: DL8, DL3, Towing Mirror Upgrade – Mirrors Explained

Mirrors from 2014-2017 will work. If you get a Power Fold set, there will be additional customization needed on the mirror connector itself. You'll need a set of harnesses as well. But all very doable.

 

$225 for a harness set from me

$100 mirror customization (if power fold)

$50 shipping from me to you.

 

You source the mirrors have them dropped shipped to me.

 

Let me know if you have any other questions. If you go the OEM route, subtract $100 for connector customization and $50 for the shipping. You'll just need a set of my harnesses at that point.

I'm not 100% sure either but since a LOT of stuff changed after that time I would have to lean towards no; I did a similar upgrade on my 07 Chevy years ago and the power fold switches even look different.

So it appears that the bezel is the same between mirrors that are powered? Only the switch needs replaced to add the powerfold button?

That's correct. Even if you have Non-Power Adjust Mirrors like the bezel on the left, (W/T - Work Trucks) you can still gain power adjust and power fold. This would mean a new bezel harness too. If you have power adjust now, simply swapping the button will take care of that.

DQS Power Fold - Chrome Towing Mirror

Part # 84041609 - Driver

Part # 84228892 - Passenger (Gas)

Part # 23351798 - Passenger (Diesel - K40)

Part #s get superseded all the time by new part #s. Here is what I was able to find.

 

23351798 was superseded by 84041613. 84041613 was then superseded by 84228894.

 

So - 84228894 is the current passenger side DQS Mirror for Diesel. But any of these part #s will work.

The only time a new harness isn't needed is if you currently have fully functioning - DPN Tow Mirrors (Non-Powerfold) and you upgrade to DQS Tow Mirrors (Power Fold).

 

If you have the smaller DL3 mirror, you will need new harnesses.

For anyone curious on what I've been up to...

 

This is what I'm working on now. The harness on top is missing the X510 Mirror Connector. This harness came off a truck didn't have power mirrors and came with manual adjust DE2 mirrors. Doing a bezel swap and getting him upgraded to power adjust mirrors AND power fold! The end result is the bottom harness. His bezel trim is pictured on the left and we are getting to the bezel on the right!
