This is how my truck sounded this morning when I left for work

No, when I left it didnt sound that bad, but it was still making a noise. They told me they cannot do anything for the noise because they could not find it in 6 days of trying.

Thats how mine sounded one cold morning and the next it was fine. I never took it to the dealer bc I knew I would get the usual "can't replicate customers concern" BS. Hope to hear your dealer has a solution.

Thanks, It was a cold start but it had been idling for awhile at this point and it was about 75 degrees out...

Check your spark plug connections from the coils. I've seen someone on facebook that had a funny sound almost like yours and It ended up being a loose spark plug wire causing it to ark and make a noise like that.

Exhaust leak, loose or cracked spark plug, cracked manifold are good starting places. If they cant find that in 6 days then they need to replace the entire service department staff.

Sounds more like a collapsed lifter to me. This is likely why it's not happening all of the time.

Sounds like the vacuum pump is probably getting ready to grind itself up. There have been quite a few failing and they send a blast of shrapnel into the motor.

Sounds like the engine midget has the flu. Dump some DayQuil in the fuel tank and it should clear up.

Nope - it's just cosmetic. Mechanicals and electricals are the same (for the most part - there are a few differences in the Denali that aren't available from Chevy).

Any GMC dealer has the tools to work on a Silverado and vice-versa ...

I say pop the hood and sniff around, you'd be suprised, also there is a air pump on the front of the engine possible leak, & its also possible rats ate through something as well.
