Radio Turned On When I Opened Door

Mine has done the radio on thing one time but I was not driving it. My wife needed to drive my truck because I was putting tires on hers. I met her for lunch and we swapped vehicles. When I got into my truck the radio was playing. It's happened the one time and never again. Weirdness.

I've also never understood why the screen has to come on before you start the vehicle but it is what it is. Sometimes I wonder if I would have been better off dumping 5 to 8 grand in my 02 model and getting all the rust fixed and a repaint and just keeping it. My 02 mechanically was a great truck but the rust is what got me shopping for a new truck.

I know this is an old thread but....

Its because as soon as you either open a door or hit a button on the remote, the MOST50 system has to wake up because chimes and other functions come through the speakers.

I also had the issue that i would loose onstar and ALL functions of the radio. I would turn the truck off and take the key and get out and it wouldnt shut off. Dealer did a softeare update and its been ok since.

Just discovered something really "odd" about my 2018 Silverado, it hasn't had the radio on with remote start, like my '15 did, YET.  But, I unlocked it this afternoon, accidentally bumped the power button on the radio (key in the house), and the radio turned on.  :freak:

Found out, later last night, that this is normal.

My 2017 WT radio comes on to a different channel about 3 or 4 times a week.  FM to AM.  Don't know why.  My 2014 did the same thing.  GM never did fix that problem.

Jchoi, I had the same thing with my 2014.  Eventually the radio went and was replaced under warranty.  My 2017 does it only once in a while.
