rear frame plugs for HD's

So while searching the net I found on Amazon plugs that fit in those ugly tube holes in our frame. Problem is they are only available for the 1500's. So a further search found a company who makes all types of plugs but you have to buy in bulk. I don't need to pay over $145 for 30 of these. Has anyone come across a vendor that will sell the 4 we need. The hole is ~3.3" and the plug would be 3.5" or as close as you could get it.

50 pieces for $20. Good idea to plug the holes? Or just for aesthetics?

I think its good to plug holes especially in the salt belt where i live. Keeping corrosive stuff out of the frame is good. With that kit it does not give a great explanation of what is included. I would buy if I was guaranteed fitment. The description at bottom talks about Curt jack parts?????

This where I bought my plugs for my 2015i 2500 HD. The plugs listed are for a 1500 but he has the ones for the rear holes under the rear wheel wells. Has plugs for allot of things.

Thanks for the link. Not sure what the other 44 pieces are for with the Curt package.

I've seen crud accumulate on the bottom.

I needed a plastic hammer to get them in...good tight fit and have never moved.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to see if I can get some black 'plastic' round stock to make some.

I have these for the frame holes in the back and the smaller holes under the cab. I bought them from ebay and they worked great! Larger holes are 3 1/4" (there are four).

Just noticed 1 of the plugs I made has disappeared. WTF? I had to use a deadblow hammer to 'install' them for crying out loud.

I'd be worried about them trapping water in them. I bought some frame plugs for my SXS and while they never popped off, I did decide to pull one after a few rides--full of water. So were the others.

I'd think the water being trapped inside the frame would be worse than water getting in there and drying out eventually, right?

That's my thinking, too.
