Only way to defeat the loud chimes (this is assuming you have already turned the chime volume down at the setting menu) without running all doors off the rear channel is to turn the amp gain down and run the head unit at higher volumes.

Can someone verify the lowest setting for the navigation voice volume? Mine is at 21 and has the (-)(+) next to it but it won't go any lower than (21)?? When ever I try and lower it (sample, sample) is all I get and the volume will not lower.

In order to not amp my chimes I am going to tap into the rear speakers and just amp the sub and rears for now until I can get it figured out.

Hey Guys,

I have a 17 silverado with 8in screen and no amp ( UQ3)  I installed a alpine PDX-V9 and audio control DQ-61,  All JL audio c2 speakers,  Tweeters custom mounted in the dash spots. 12" focal sub under the rear seat (Crew Cab)  I had it professionally tuned by a friend of mine and it sounds great except for a tiny bit of white noise and sometimes a high pitch noise which I've tried to trace and isn't the alternator.  Has anyone else experienced it?  I tapped into the speaker wire behind the screen (soldered up nice) and everything is mounted under the center console. I ran all 16G NVX speaker wires into the doors.  There is a way to route the wire in there around the connector and have it look factory and the boot still lines up nice when connecting in the door jam.  I didn't do the run the rear speakers and bridge them to front and rear and leave the front left hooked up (I'm thinking of switching it that way)

AXXESS is working on a DSP for the MOST amps in out trucks.  Has anyone had any experience with the JL Tweak I believe it is or other digital sound processors that work better in these trucks.  I really just want to eliminate the white noise and occasional high pitch wine.  The door chime does not bother me too much, we were able to tweak it so its not so bad.  The AXXESS DSP should take care of that when it is released for some silverado models but I have a feeling it wont work for the trucks with the 8in screen and no amp like the UQA or UQG.

Here is a video with some of the install in it:

The noise could be coming from the audio control component. Unfortunately they are known for this.

I am using th JL Fix and Twk D8 and am very pleased with them.

BTW that is a very nice install that you have done.

Thanks for getting back to me!  I'm so glad you said that you think its the audio control unit.  I have tried everything to eliminate that noise!!  do you have the fix and twk d8 linked together?  I've been trying to figure it out.  you have the inputs from the truck wired into the JL fix then out to the twk d8 via optical?

I want to get to the bottom of this!  I was thinking of getting another 2 channel amp to amp the rear speakers and switch my apline to the tweeters and mids seperatly in the front.

Do you have to stock speakers still in the dash?  How did you wire the speaker inputs to your JL Fix.  Did you do the rear speakers bridged to the fronts?
