Mods if you could pin this it would be excellent.

I got bit by the condenser bug and after seeing some people get significant relief from GM I tried as well. The best they could do for me was $700. Its quite obvious this is a major issue and GM is not stepping up to the plate to fix it. Their willingness to help some out partially or wholly is evidence that they know they are in the wrong. I am currently waiting on a backordered part and in the mean time I am pursuing other options. I am part of building the suit here

and i recommend anyone with an issue here joins as well. The more heads we can get involved the better. Those of you that have had the repair done, if you could post up pictures of your invoices it would be greatly appreciated.

Just my experience with being part of a number of class actions over my lifetime... these are the "pyramid schemes" of the legal profession, imo.

 

The way they work is a lawyer finds a large number of people that feel wronged, of which even a fraction of that group collectively could amount to an extremely large amount of compensation. The defendant has to have huge financial resources for these schemes to be worthwhile to the lawyers. The lawyers advertise/inform or count on others like this forum to do the advertising for them, because direct advertising isn't always legal in all states. The "class" has to get big enough to become a formidable financial threat to the corporate defendant. Once the critical mass of a threat is achieved by enough people joining the class action, the lawyers of the defendant have to settle to avoid huge financial risk of going to court. The plaintiff lawyer is happy to settle even for small fractions of huge total class damages because he gets something like 1/3 rd of the total. The class gets the rest, divided up. It almost always means the lawyer makes a huge payday for a case he never intended to go to trial for and individuals of the class action get a pittance of their actual losses. I've received a number of tiny checks over the years to support this. Btw, these often take many years to settle. Your truck will probably be hauling lawnmowers by the time you get your "settlement". My experience suggests a final dispersed settlement for individuals will be closer to $10 than $1000. But I could be wrong.

This is not the first part that GM has produced that has failed pre-maturely for a larger than normal percentage of people and it won't be their last. Same goes for any other make of vehicle out there. Only thing you can do is get it fixed for the least amount of money that you can and from there you can decide if your next truck will be a GM or a competitor.

That is how these class action lawsuits start, one person has a rogue failure and they feel rage and anger that (insert brand and model here) has a part fail as everything should be perfect. They then search and find a couple more instances and think they deserve free parts and everything should be perfect and never fail, so they decide to sue like half the population does it seems if something doesn't go their way (...). Good luck I guess, probably much cheaper and faster just ordering the part your self, replacing it and paying a shop to evacuate and charge the system...

My aftermarket condenser has been installed and working fine for at least a couple months now.

I have a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500.  Started having problems under 50,000 miles.... Small radiator leak that is now worse and my A/C wont stay charged. 

I have been researching the issues and found that GMC admits to Radiator problem, but will only fix the 2014 model and not the 2015 ( Even though they have put out a Bulletin on it) I found many people on GMC forums with same issue. I also saw there is a suit against GM with the A/C problem which also has a service bulletin out from GM. 

I have contacted the local GMC dealer but they refuse to pay for any repairs.  

 

We need to unite and make GMC repair.... the dealer wants $2000 to repair radiator and A/C.... unacceptable for a $65,000 truck with less then 50,000 miles.

 

 

On January 31, 2018, Lieff Cabraser and co-counsel filed a consumer fraud class action lawsuit against General Motors Company in Tennessee federal court on behalf of all persons who purchased or leased in Tennessee certain GM vehicles equipped with an allegedly defective air condition system.

Not trying to be "mean spirited", but why would an independently owned dealership pay for a repair to a truck out of both warranties with a known manufacture defect? 

You need to go after GM, rather than beating up the ones (dealership) who could help you.

I did.... GMC said go to your local dealer... get radiator evaluated, get estimate, put it in a case number and they will see 

what they can do.... 

 

WELL after doing all that, confirming the leak is at the EXACT SPOT in the Bulletin, GMC and the Dealer said NOPE... 

pay us $1700 for the fix.....

      Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?

      Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.

      Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.

      I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !

      Just wanted to get a idea of how many of you still have problems with your radio cutting out during the first few minutes of driving, my 2024 GMC Sierra still does this after a little over 2 years of complaining to my dealer about it, and OTA updates no longer complete, the check for updates in settings is greyed out for the second time while trying to install a update, my dealer took about a week to play around with it the first time this happened, and somehow got the check for updates to work, even though it would always show system is up to date when I knew it wasn't, now again 1 month later its greyed out again when the OTA update N25-F163BU tried to install, which ironically is the update to help with reliability of future updates.
