2014 Silverado Brake line blow out

Just had what i believe is my front brake line blow out on a 2014 SIlverado 1500 LT (4WD V6).

All of a sudden my pedal starts going to the floor, tried to pump it once and same thing so i'm like crap something is wrong. Was able to park the truck and look under and saw fluid pouring out by the brake line on the front right wheel.

Thank god it happened as i was parking in my driveway (or at least that's when they leaked enough to stop working).

Can anyone suggest a good replacement brake line kit for the entire truck? I dont trust any of the lines now, i want to replace them all with steel braided lines unless there is something even better than that.

I doubt it was the steel brake lines. Probably a brake hose, which ozone, petroleum, and heat degrade the rubber. It was probably a bad one, which does happen in mass production. I would stick with OEM GM hoses.

Turns out the sway bar snapped and took out the brake line, holy shit!

What would cause the sway bar to go like that? I don't abuse the truck and havent driven offroad for quite some time. Would larger than stock tires cause more stress? I know the truck has been lifted a little and has bigger than stock tires, but it was that way when i bought it.

the actual sway bar or the sway bar end link?

Could have been that who ever installed the leveling kit (I suppose that is what you are talking about) may not have assembled or tightened things down like they should have.

But i have put over 40k miles on the truck since i bought it... I would imagine loose bolts would have manifested in serious issues way before now? Also i am pretty sure it was a leveling kit, there were blocks up front that said "rough country" on them, but i didnt notice anything in the rear,.

Sway bar end links are pretty much consumable and frequently fail (like every 100k miles i guess would be a good average)

the actual sway bar snapping is very rare

crazy that it took out the brake lines

I’ve had that happen a couple times from rusty lines on other cars, definitely not a fun feeling to suddenly feel like you have no brakes.

It was the end links, truck has 85k on it. The brake line was rubbing on the expose bolt threads and over time did the line in.

annnnnnd my ****ing trans cooler lines are leaking again. Already had to replace them once, mechanic said the go all the time on these trucks due to the shitty crimps. GM needs to wake up and fix these damn trans cooler lines, they must be making a killing on replacements.

GM has been using the same crappy crimped tranny cooler lines since the 1999 GMT800. I wouldn't be surprised if they will use them on the 2019 models.
