I've put 40k miles on my Range in my '11 5.3 Tahoe now and zero issues. MPG is down 1 mpg highway. I'm at 77k miles now when it needs a qt. of oil it's at 10% on the OLM which is about 8500 miles.

OnStar picks up a aftermarket device being plugged in but so what as I'm out of warranty.

It works as advertised and I'm satisfied.

I've never had any OnStar report notify me of my Range device plugged into my '16 Silverado.

I watched a bunch of videos on the max energy tuner but didn’t see anyone pulling fuses out. Is this something that def needs to be done. Seen some just plug it in with doors open and what not and seemed to have just programmed without issue?

No idea on that one as I use a diablo. Didn’t have to do anything beyond turning the truck on and off a few times. I’d follow whatever the directions it supplied you with.

I've been using my Range for a little over 4 months now.  I had to reset it once last week (take off, run for a few minutes and reinstall while running) as I noticed it was going back into V4 with it plugged in. .  No codes were thrown.  So keep in mind you may need to "reset" it occasionally.

Truck runs a lot better with AFM turned off not to mention no V4 drone. The only thing I turned off was V4. Everything else remains stock unless you change it?

Today was the first real day to test it highway and what not. I am noticing it’s holding a gear. Almost like if it was a manual and you go to shift but don’t just let off the gas and coast. It seems to be doing that? RPMs stay high but if you tap the gas it will shift into the next gear. Anyone have any shifting issues with turning off V4?

My 16 loved the range until I had my aftermarket trailer brake controller installed. After that I would get an engine light almost every drive so I sold it.

My solution was putting on a set of Goodyear Wrangler duratrac tires. The hum from the aggressive tread I can't hear it go into v4 anymore.

Have had the Range now for a few weeks I was notified by Onstar they could not check because it seemed another device may be plugged in I called range they said to unplug it on the day Onstar  does its checks Hope its ok 2018  with only 4000 miles would hate to lose warranty. Love it though

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a valentine 1 radar detector that also stops the OnStar diagnostics from working. They can't void my warranty because of my radar detector.

I currently have v1 radar, amp powersteps, and "Automatic" (car tracking device) plugged into an OBDII splitter. I wonder if the Range will work if the OBDII has been split.

Just got a OnStar update without the aftermarket device plugged in mentioned so it looks like it's hit or miss with them picking up the Range.

I too wonder about the using the splitter with my V1 alert canceller and the Range.. I guess it's a test and see. At least I can see on the dash if it's in V8 or V4 mode.

Had the Range on my 2017 always plugged in for a few months now and zero issues. They work on all three engine options but make the most noticeable difference in everyday driving on the V8's since the V6 engines really only goes into 4 cylinder mode while decelerating. There is a difference in MPG but it is not much different in city driving maybe .5 or something of that nature.

Been reading on this topic a lot.  Bought a 2018 Z71 & fuel mileage is pretty darn good compared to my 2000 Z71 I had.  My problem is I just had dual exhaust (cat back) put on using a Magnaflow muffler and when it runs in V4 mode it sounds aweful.  Reading the forums that is a common complaint.
