Thanks everyone for the information.

First GMC Truck and I'm impressed with spare tire has a key lock mechanism.

That was slick.

Here’s a good place to get a few tips/tricks. Several others if you dig enough.

If this impresses you, you should read your manual.  There are all sorts of neat features on these trucks that aren't obvious.  There are also a couple of threads on this forum dedicated to tips and tricks with these trucks.

I read every page of my manual when I got my baby. I tell you what, I don't remember anything about holding unlock on the fob to lower my windows in there. Much of the manual is super dry, or not helpful for experienced drivers. They need a separate pamphlet that is new information for the current model. I bet people would read a "tips & tricks" section if they had it. I'm sure glad for that portion of this website.

What's even more shocking is that Chevrolet also uses the lock in that location.

This particular tip is found on page 2-5 of my manual.  Every so often I reread parts of my manual as there is a lot of information to absorb, even for us experienced drivers.

haha, ok, you got me. I only said I don't remember that from the manual. My salesman showed me that trick before I left the dealership. That was the first neat trick I though of for an example.

All I'm saying is, even though I read through the whole manual once 3 years ago, I have still learned more by reading this forum. I should also probably re-read the manual for all of my power equipment every year, but once I figure out how to operate it and change the oil, the manuals mostly sit in the drawer. Maybe some day I'll have more free time, lol.

Bro I need help with links lol. I’ve been using online forums for 15+ years, but still can’t figure anything out in Tapatalk though! Hell I think I used to post them in Tapatalk a few years ago too before an app uodate, now I just butcher it lol.
