Rear defrost

Looked to identify a rear or mirror defrost button in a new to me 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 base with elevation edition package. Button in question is pictured below. My rear window does not seem to have defrost lines in it. Thanks for any help

Looks like you don't have a heated rear window. Top one is front window defrost bottom button looks like heated mirrors. I've never seen that before. My HRW says 'REAR' on the button.

That's the symbol for heated mirrors. It's noted in the owner's manual. Rear defrost does, indeed, say "rear."

Yup, heated mirrors is one of the many fancy options the Elevation package adds. So many luxuries in a "base" trim level truck. I love mine.

Yupp, as others mentioned you don't have a heated rear glass panel, only the mirrors. My 14 silverado all star has heated mirrors and rear window. The window is pretty useless since I have a truck cap on so it barely gets wet in between the cab and bed cap. In my case the rear defrost button looks different but it turns on the mirrors and rear window heater. The easiest way to tell for sure if you have heated mirrors is to turn it on and use a temperature gun or even your hand and touch the mirror glass. The warming grid is towards the inner most part of the mirror where it hinges. After about 10 seconds you will feel it getting warm.

I was mistaken. My button also has REAR

So . . . if I have heated rear window, how do I turn on my heated mirrors? Or do I not have them?

Or is it like my GMT900 where they come on with my rear window?

They come on with the rear defrost.
