2002 Chevy Silverado ignition

Hi I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado, one day I came home and I thought I had the truck in park but it was in reverse and I was able to take the key out of the ignition. So when I realized it wasn’t in park I put it back into  park and the next day I went to start it, the ignition got stuck in the starting position and I had to turn the key back.Every time I start the truck I have to turn the key back I replaced the ignition but that didn’t change anything please help me !!

Did you mean to say you replaced the ignition switch or the lock cylinder? Your problem sounds like the lock cylinder binding up, particularly if the key is getting stuck while trying to rotate it through the positions.

Ah, I see. Is the shifter moving smoothly when you shift back and forth out of park? It's not uncommon for the cable sheething to rust and tear open causing the cable to bind and not allow the shifter to return to the park position properly.
