Spray In Bedliner

Hello fellow 2019 owners!

 

i have not heard anyone discuss spray in bed liners for their new rigs. Do you have one on your ‘19 Silverado or Sierra? If so did it come factory or did you do line-x?

 

If yours did come from the factory already sprayed can you include a picture?

 

If you went aftermarket, how was your experience? Were you worried because of the lights in the bed ETC....

Don’t have one myself but am curious about the factory spray in liner.  Is it as good as the aftermarket professional spray in liners?

I’ve got a Sierra AT4 with the spray in bedliner. The quality is good and I like the AT4 logo in the front wall of the bed. I’ve had a Linex after market liner in a previous truck. The quality and texture of the factory liner seems similar to Linex.

 

The only issue I see on mine is a few frayed spots along front edge where the bed meets the cab. Looks like it was masked and when tape was removed the edge didn’t come out perfect. If I decide to fix it, I think I can clean it up fine with a razor blade.  You have to really look closely and from the right angle to see the issue. 

 

I think having the Chevy emblem, AT4, Denali, etc embedded in front wall is a nice look. I’m not sure if you can get that with aftermarket. If you can get the emblem in the front wall of bed with an aftermarket application, it would just be a price/convenience question.  Quality seems very similar to aftermarket.

Mine came with the factory bedliner. I had LineX in my last truck.  Seems very similar.  The LineX I did the upgraded UV protection one, I think it was a bit shinier than the factory bedliner.  

 

In my new truck with the factory bedliner I also have a couple spots of overspray. I don’t think it’s worth trying to fix.  Most of mine are along the edge near the cab.

I had a LineX in my 14’ and factory liners in my 15’ and 19’. To be honest the quality and durability seems to be the same to me. Having the Bowtie logo in the back of the bed is a bonus. 

 

A couple things to note on the 2019. The tailgate is not sprayed. It has a textured tailgate liner, similar to the WeatherTech Tech Liner.

Also I had an issue with overspray of the liner on my bedside and back of the cab. It came off fairly easy since it was a painted surface.

I wanted to gauge if the factory ones had the logo on the back. Since I am seeing they do I wonder if line x can do that for me?

I would think they could.  If not you could just get a Bowtie and have it put on the front and let them spray over it.

What he said. It’s just a form they stick to the bedside and them cover with the liner. Rhino Liner and LineX both used to regularly do it with their logo’s.

Bed liner repairs should be handled similar to other body repair and sublet to an appropriate vendor (identified on the website below) or performed by the dealer (if proper equipment and skill set are available). This includes warranty, New Vehicle Damage claims, customer pay and collision repairs. Additional information is provided in this bulletin to clarify the repair process and supplier information.

 

Repairs to the spray-in bed liner fall into small or large categories. This will determine how the repair procedure will be performed. Any damage to the underlying sheet metal must be repaired (including corrosion protection) prior to repairing the bed liner material.

You sure seem to be right. I know the owners of LineX an I would swear they told me they do the GM OEM work.  Said they built a factory next door to do it. Interesting
