So how much air is everybody keeping in their 35s. I had mine put on last month and after installing I notice it rides a bit hard that it use to.  After getting up to 70 plus on the highway the truck shakes a bit

i checked the tire pressure and it had 40 in them so I dropped the psi down to 32 hoping maybe that helps.

Could it or just need re balanced? . I noticed they didn’t use the stick on weights but put the old type weight on the back of the rim edge. Think that could be the problem?

Had walmart put them on so maybe that’s why lol.

I have a 1.5 motofab level kit that I plan on putting on soon and then having a alignment done. Think these bigger tires cause for an alignment themselves?

My 35” mud tires get some vibration when I go 70 too and they have the stick on weights .  If they have some aggressive tread they will.    Air pressure really depends on the tire and how many ply’s it is.   I run my tires at 60 psi .  Max is 65 psi on mine .  Most of the time tire runs smoother closer to max psi.

Just had these 35x12.5R18 BFGoodrich KO2's put on yesterday. Trailboss with 1" level, no rubbing. They may have fit without the level, but I didn't like the rake.

The manager at the 4 wheel shop looked at the truck and said there was no way they'd fit. I insisted that they mount one up and test it, they fit perfectly. I may have to adjust the wheel well liner a little, will have to see how close the tire gets once I flex it offroad. I'll take some better pictures when I get a chance. The pics make it look like the front is higher than the back, it's not, ground wasn't level.

No more listening to the song of the Duratracs! :D

I'm going back quite a ways, and it doesn't look like you been on the forums much but if/when you return;

- how much did your MPG take a hit, preferable hand calculated not DIC

- how noticeable is the size difference, with regards to power

a question for those with the custom trail bosses;

- how much power loss did you experience.

I assume with the 6 speed 5.3 it is substantially more noticable than anyone here with the 8/10 speeds.

My 35s. Thundered M/T  35x12.50x18.    Wish I could figure this shaking out. Gonna take it to somewhere else and have the tires balanced and rotated. Hopefully it helps

No guts no glory. I went ahead and did the Rough Country 1318 2in level. It was anything but level. It had had the front up an inch higher than the rear. So out go the factory AT4 blocks and in come 3in ones. Sits dead level now. Went with 35x12.50x20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Was a little nervous since they measure and true 35in and 13.39 wide. A 1/4 spacer was needed on the front since the width of tire was causing a light rub on the upper control arms. Removed the mud flap bracket, trimmed the mudflap, and pushed and pulled the liner out of the way. No rubs, lock to lock now.

Where did you get the rear 3” blocks from?

Well. Took it to a different shop and had the tires balanced and rotated. They changed the weights from the clip on to stick on kind, helped some but still bouncing a bit.    Guess I’ll try the balance beads and if that don’t help, I’ll have some 35x12.50x18’s for sale lol

18. Rim width is 8.5.

Positive about that 8.5? most of the previosu stock wheels were 7.5.

The offset is important too, anyone have the details.

Yea. The stock factory rims are positive offset.   I think it’s because I went to the wider tire. Should of went with 10 instead of 12.5.    Don’t know if I should even try the balancing beads or just throw the factory tires back on and try to sell these 35s

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
