If you don't subscribe does any of it work or is it just a bunch of buttons on the mirror?
Jim
Good question, I hope someone answers that knows.

Mine only lasted about a month, bought the truck Oct 4th and it stopped working a few weeks ago, now on the GMC app is says Upgrade Now, I thought is was supposed to be 3 months, guess you only get the extra 2 months free if you sign up for a paid plan!!

If it was $5 a month to just start and unlock, i would pay but $15 a month is a joke.

Starting before leaving work was the only time i used it anyways. Mine expired.

Yes, it should be free. I have lots of apps on my phone and don't pay anything to use them.

I was in the same boat with my 2015. It was a nice convenience to have when needed. When I found out the 18 I just bought only had 3 months free it no longer became a necessity. I am thinking about getting an outside door keypad vis a vi the Fords. Now if it was only integrated better that'd be nice.

On my 2015 GMC Sierra I had 5 years free of the unlock and remote start feature in the my GMC and OnStar app. According to OnStar as of May 2018 that has changed to three months only. Can anybody confirm?

It only changed for 2018 and newer vehicles.

--  Anything bought after that is 3 months free then you need to pay.

--  Any 2015-2017 still has the old "Basic" plan free for 5 years but after that you need to pay.

Here is the "Remote Access" plan info (scroll down then click on "Compare All Plans" on the left):

I agree but my point was since you have a 2015 (at least according to your sig) then yours should still work until 5 years after the truck was first sold.

I'm not going to pay that much either but if they offer Remote Start for around $5/month I will keep it after my 5 years expires.

I need to update my signature. The 2015 is gone and has been replaced for the 2018 6.2.

That sucks... After my 5 years expires, I may subscribe just during the winter months to warm her up. It is convenient to be able to start the truck from anywhere.. like my desk! LOL!
