Same issues as you all are having, started from day 1, I thought it was me as it was a CarPlay symptom initially, then I went to black screen, then touch screen, back up camera, etc...

Is this enough for lemon law? I'm in it for 6 months of issues, multiple trips to dealer, multiple times we can't replicate it (I have videos from the time they told me that to prove I'm not crazy). multiple trips to pick it up saying it was fixed but when I started it up it was broken.

I'm not sure if my issue is related to this post, but I will post my problem anyway...  I have a 2019 Trail Boss Z71 LT with 9,500 miles.  Since I purchased this truck in February 2019, I have had issues with my infotainment system.  Most common is that when I turn my truck back on after stopping at the gas station, gym, store... basically, anywhere.. the infotainment system comes up, but no music will play.  I have to actually touch the screen to get the music to play. It's annoying and very weird.

I think your issue is related, there seems to be various symptoms but all point to the infotainment system in these trucks is garbage. We paid damn good money for these trucks, they should work as intended not be jerked around at the dealer cause GM doesn't know how to fix their issue.

I purchased  my 2019 Silverado on 3/9/19, 2 weeks later the infotainment screen displayed black and blue lines horizontally for 3-5 seconds, then the screen turned black, 5 seconds later smoke began rising from the dash filling the cabin with smoke.(@ 250 miles) After two trips back to dealer I received my truck back ( one trip=screen replacement, 2nd trip= replace upper glove box door damaged in disassembly and to realign center console side panels). After driving my truck for a week, as I prepared to go out for dinner with my family, the infotainment screen displayed black and blue lines  again, screen turned black and smoke came from the dash again.(@ 700 miles) WTF. The dealer has had my truck for one week now and I am being told the cause was a faulty infotainment screen control module which cause the screen to burn-out again. I spent 53k for an effin lemon, should have purchased a Ford. Chevy has one more chance to get it right or my attorney will be contacting them to file suit under the Massachusetts Lemon Law.

Why would you ever buy a ford?  No decent engine 2.7 3.5 and 5.0 liter all have issues. The apim goes bad every month. The door latches freeze and you can’t open the door in the morning. And when the airbags deploy the truck can catch on fire.

What do you mean it acts like everybody else? If it blanks out, is distorted, No sound etc, it should be replaced. The IOR is the 7 inch unit without HD video. It does not update like the IOS and IOT upper level units. Therefore video from the backup camera will not be as clear and the pic at night might appear to be bright.

Screen goes blank at startup sometimes.Resets itself a couple times a day. Sometimes it freezes. Keeps on playing after shut down for about 15 minutes. This has been a problem since 70 kms. After 3 trips back i was told it could not be repaired until new software is released. Also sound goes full bore for no reason and then comes back down ,it is very distracting.

My radios screen froze up "2 days" after I bought a new 2020 Silverado. I took it back to the dealership and the service department said that if it were to ever happen again just disconnect the negative side of the battery and then reconnect it after a minute.  And that it shouldn't ever do that again.  Then it did it again today (have had the truck for a little over a week now).   So I disconnected the negative connection, waited a minute,  and then reconnected it.  Luckily the radio started working again.  But am I gonna have to do this for now on with a brand new truck?   Is this what I am to expect from Chevrolet?

We like to refer to the fix as a "Chinese fire drill".  yes, it's totally annoying and totally unacceptable, but unless you want to drop $$$ on an aftermarket stereo, I guess this is the quality to expect from GM products.  Mechanics at a dealership can't fix it, they're not computer programmers.  anything to get you out the door.

I have a 2020 GMC Sierra Elevation level about 3 weeks old as of May 2020 and the infotainment center went blank the first time I touched it this morning. Turned truck off and on 3 times and it finally lined itself out. I videoed the problem, so I have documentation for the dealer in case it keeps doing the same thing. Obviously, the issue is not fixed on 2020 trucks. I have the upgraded Bose system.

My Silverado has 2300 miles on it and the screen has went black twice. I didn’t take it back to the dealership the 1st time it happened because it fixed itself after a few hours. Well today it went black for the second time and I’m going to the dealership after work. I really hope they have a way to fix this problem. $47,000 2020 Silverado

2020 Silverado 2500, when I went to pick it up the screen was blank. Pulled it into the service bay with the salesman and the unhooked the batteries and connected the pow and meg together on from both batteries and then had to connect the computer to reset some things. Drove it  yesterday about 12O miles to offsite facility for product testing. On the way home I stopped to get a snack, when I get back in the screen is blank and no functionality. Picked it up the evening on Aug 31st, two days and the screen goes out again. I need to go back to to the test facility today, but I think I will wait for the dealer to open. I’m going to try and get my old truck back or cancel the deal.

Best thing i ever did was get rid of the factory radio. Chevy dropped the ball on their "infotainment" such garbage. Really wish they would just hook up with pioneer or alpine and make a nice unit.

Same.

Brand New 2020 Silverado 3500- 1500 miles- camera icon frozen and no back up camera.  Called the dealer - no help...AT ALL!  Not happy with this purchase.  It appears as though there are glitches that are not being taken care of.

Do I have to fix this myself.  What do I do to get the touch screen to recognize the camera icon and get my back up camera back.

Sad part is this thread starts in 2019!  I have a 2021 that has had the infotainment freeze up on a few occasions.  A few times in 20 months isnt a huge dealbreaker, but IT HAPPENS AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME.  I’m not talking just the radio,  but the GPS maps freezing up.  A convoluted highway ramp exchange coming up and FREEZE.  The only remedy is pulling over, shutting off the truck, and waiting  for it to TIME OUT before restarting and hoping it fixes itself.  So far it has, but… what a nuisance.  You would have thought they could have fixed this stuff already!!   INFOTAINMENT is $#!t.
