That is high.  I paid $50 to have my old worn out Flowmaster cut out and weld in the new Magnaflo I brought with me.   To show how prices changed, back 10 years ago I did the same thing when my first Flowmaster went bad and they only charged me $25.  They know they got you. Stinks but my welding skills suck.

I paid 40$ in 2014 for muffler delete.

If I can upload a video clip under the allotted size I will. I have a 2018 crew cab with a flowmaster 10 series, flapper valve and resonator left intact. Has a nice little growl, inside and outside the cab.

I picked up a couple of mph and MPG when I cut out the flapper and replaced the stock muffler with a straight through magnaflow.

Even wedged open, the flapper is restrictive. I had mine wedged open and it made a difference having it removed.

My son recently got his 18 5.3 muffler deleted. Kept the valves and resonator in place. Sounds good all the time. Reminds me of cruising muscle cars in the 70's and early 80's. Going to do it to my 17 5.3 soon. Can't tell if mine starts when I try to remote start it from in the house. Can hear his just fine.

Sorry to see that after a year, nobody still answered your question about the lack of bends in the pipe to replace the muffler. Lots of opinions though. I'm still curious if it was possible as I am cheap.

It's possible with to weld or use clamps with a straight pipe on a muffler delete...
