First post on here.  I am in the same boat.  380 miles and I have "Brake system failure" Service ESC" "Service Trailer Brake System" "service brake assist"  The family was piling into the truck to go to swimming lessons for my 4yo.  I saw all these pop up.  I DID NOT drive it.  I am waiting for a tow now to the dealership.  I will continue reading though this thread.  Thanks!

Update.  I got the truck towed to the dealership on Saturday afternoon.  They were closed on Sunday.  Monday they diagnosed the issue and I will be getting a new brake control module/master cylinder installed.  This item is on back order.....  Like others on this thread, I think I may be waiting awhile.

Saturday the only loaner they had as a clown car (2019 Sonic RS).  Monday I went and traded it out for a Colorado.  At least that is four wheel drive.  I need it to go Elk hunting next week.  That car would not even hold a little ice chest.

Add me to the list of those with a '19 AT4 and "Service Brake Assist" issues. Dealership has been trying to track my failure down since 7/19. Finally, this week, they say that GM wants them to replace the master cylinder. Now, the big wait is for parts especially with the strike going on.

I've had a case open with GM Customer Care for the last few weeks.

After working with the dealership for 6 months and GM customer care for 3 weeks, I have decided that I won’t risk the safety of my family on a persistent brake problem any longer.

Now that GM part shipments are slow, if not completely stopped, due to the strike, I’m not going to wait it out for a new master cylinder.

I have traded my AT4 in and won’t give GM any more of my business.

My sincere thanks to those on this forum who have offered valuable product information. My thanks also to the leadership of this forum for making a valuable resource available.

With Regards.

My power assist went out suddenly while on vacation around the first of July.  Luckily the local dealer replaced the power assist pump on a Saturday under a service bulletin (now a recall).  This week, roughly 3 1/2 months later I got a service power assist message on my screen and the brake pedal pressure was a little erratic feeling.  I took it to my local dealer to have it checked out and they said the pump was fine, but that the brakes needed to be reprogrammed.   I have lost confidence in my trucks brakes.  Anyone else have a similar experience.?

My truck did the same as Joe Sargent.  I lost power assist while driving. It only has 7900 miles.   Restarting the truck over and over didn't help.  I had no warning lights or codes.  After giving up and 30 minutes of sitting, I restarted the truck and had brakes.  I took it to the dealer the next day Friday 10-19-19.  Dealer called today 10-21-19, they have been trying to work with GM on it, and said GM says no codes, then no problem, come pick it up.  Gm said they have never heard of this problem till mine.  Obv they are lying after reading Joe Sargent posts. Dealership has drove it 40 miles and cant get it to duplicate. (Dealership wants to help, but GM says they will not authorize work on the truck).  Sounds like tough luck for me.  Next time this happens I may not be around anymore  to post about it.

Day 70!  No end in site.  Dealer has done all they can but GM cannot/will not ship the part to them.  Moved on to the BBB complaint process. Look for the "Limited Warranty and Owner Assistance Information" booklet with owners manual. You must follow these steps to escalate your case with GM.

Page 23 of this book states... "Warrantied repairs should be completed in a reasonable amount of time,  not to exceed 30 days."

Page 28 and 29 describe the claims procedure.

Same here your just a number until you follow the steps provided in the glove box, with your owners manual. Limited warranty and owners assistants manual is the best to provide a response back from GM. Day 61 for me.

Had this issue Monday in my 2019 Trail Boss, had it into the dealership yesterday and the "updated" the pump control module "hoping" it would fix the issue. Interesting to see that there are more owners with this issue.

For anyone that knows the build date of their truck and has / had this issue, would you mind adding that date? I'm just curious if the released software update back in March? Fixed anything for the trucks that were made afterwords. It also seems that some dealers are jumping straight to a parts replacement solution and some are doing the software fix. Trying to piece that together.
