Had to fill in some areas of our driveway with gravel today and tested out the Rhino liner.  Total weight of the gravel was 4,970lbs.

Just think MXR if you could get your hands on some HEMI decals you could have hauled twice the rock. ;)

Did you load all that by hand?

 

Or did they use a loader and dump it in like in all the commercials?

Thanks for the idea Hogger, I'm gonna go ask Decal King if they have some Hemi ones available.  

 

The Rhino liner held up perfectly.  I have pics of that too, once I get a chance, I'll post those.

 

They loaded it by loader.  According to them, each bucket full was about 2,500lbs, and he put in two buckets worth.  It was freaky sitting in it as he was loading.  You could feel the back end going down and then on the second load, you could hear the leaf springs creaking as they were being compressed.

Looks like it is carrying the load pretty good to me...  That's alot of freakin' weight!!!

It is a strange feeling to be sitting in the cab when something heavy is being put in the bed.  An even stranger feeling is when you are pulling a trailer of cattle and they all start to run around in there, man that goofy, you go up, down, side to side, front to back.  

 

Going with this heavy load thing, last year a friend of ours from town wanted some cow manure to put on his garden, so of course he asked us.  No problem, we have a loader, and 60 cows that produce daily.  He brought out his '88 C1500 shortbed for a load one Saturday afternoon.  I fire up the loader and go get half a bucket full, hardly enough to deflect the front tires on the tractor.  I get to his truck and slowly try to feather the bucket to slowly load it, didn't work.  It all came out in one big blob, and when it hit that truck, it dropped like a rock onto its bumpstops and stayed, no rebound at all.  The guy was standing there and he about #### his pants, I was scared to death I'd broke his truck.  Well, must not have because he was back for three more loads, each time it was the same thing, drop, and stay.  With that tiny 4.3L he had he could only get up to 40mph for the ride home.  Wasn't all that big of a load either, I doubt it would have bothered our truck at all, but man did we overload his.
