Well I hate to join this party...but here I am...  2019 6.2 Silverado LTZ.  I literally watched it turn over 10K miles this past weekend thinking to myself this is a nice badass truck... 50 miles later (tonight) I’m out for a drive with my wife and I have the window down and I start to hear what sounds like an exhaust leak while I’m driving.  I think to myself that’s a new noise...  then we stop at the store, my wife goes in and I stay back to let the truck idle.  Oh crap, that’s a lifter not an exhaust leak and no it’s not an injector.  I’ve owned this truck since new 11 months ago.  I Special ordered it from the factory and waited 3.5 months to get it.  I know every noise this thing makes.  This is new...  it kept getting louder as I drove it.

i can tell by the rpm it’s a lifter.  Drivers side rear of the engine.

on the way home it started hesitating and felt like it’s misfiring especially when I was light on the throttle.

I limped home, no idiot lights Came on yet.  Calling dealer in the morning.  Going to really let Chevy have it on this one.  I’ll see what they say but if it’s rockers or a lifter or bent push rod I’m going to insist on a new engine.  I literally checked every box when I ordered this truck, it has performance exhaust and brembo brakes.  It’s a 75k+ truck that sounds like a giant POS...

I’ll keep the group posted on what Chevy says.

This may be a different ticking noise but my 5.3 ticks non stop! Cold start is louder but it doesn’t go away. This video is after 30 minutes of run time.

Most certainly a lifter issue. I just had my truck fixed today. 2019 GMC AT4 6.2 with 10-speed (DFM). 7500 miles. Only 6 months old. Do not listen to any dealer telling you that this is normal for these new engines. There is a TSB for this. Very disappointing after trading in a fault free 5 yr old RAM 1500 for this great truck.

I’m sorry to hear about your truck Carpendj

May I ask if your ticking noise was consistent like a clock or more like Bob2C’s video?

Guess I am joining the party to an old post......2019 Sierra 6.2 / 10 Speed - Always ran premium and oil changes every 4-5k with Mobil 1 or Wix filters - Ran Mobil 1 0/20 for warranty purposes - dealer yesterday claimed they could not duplicate the problem - met them this morning with the service writer and the technician and they were shocked and stumped - They failed to communicate that they could not duplicate the sound and claim they never ran into something like this - it is now scheduled to go elsewhere with a more competent crew.....

Its either cam or bottom end.  Time for a rebuild or replace.

Yeah that was an easy one as sometimes i see these post and it sounds more like the injectors firing and making  racket. This though clearly is a heavy nock, sucks and hope the new motor does better for you.
