2017 LTZ chrome question

I have started looking for a replacement for my 2010 silverado.  Right now I am looking at all trucks with a 6.2l in my surrounding area.  Found a 2017 LTZ that seems to have a decent starting price but noticed chrome around the wheel openings.  Was this a factory option or something that was added after?  I haven't seen it on any of the other trucks I am finding in my searches.

I am guessing if I removed it there would be fading, scratches, etc under it.

Not crazy about it either but if the price was good enough I can over look it.  I am not far from AARP anyway...

Could always remove and Plastidip them black or white??

Definitely added, I’m sure if you remove them carefully and polish the area with a light buff you will never even know they were there.

it's something that was added, and not offered through GM......thankfully! and you haven't seen it before because most people KNOW that it's hideous looking. if they are just stick on, you should be able to remove them with no issues

That trim is made by Putco it is at least stainless also can get it in black stainless.

It is easy reversible depending on which way they mounted it. You either “tab” mount or “screw” mount it. If it’s tab no holes left behind if screwed your screwed... I’m kinda surprised they didn’t do the classic 6” chrome stick on stripe along the bottom while they where at it.

Unfortunately here in the Midwest a lot of trucks suffer such modifications do mostly to old farmers with to much money and to much down time. They like to bling out them “farm” trucks to show off for each other while having their daily morning coffee at either the local Caseys or Mickey Ds .

On a 2 yr old truck, it will be fine. You will never be able to tell the difference from a naked eye. Now if the truck was, say, 15 yrs old, then there will be a difference.
