OnTheReel Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 It’s amazing the amount of weight reduction you get when ditching the stock exhaust... between the 2 flappers, giant muffler and two resonators. I held onto my old parts for a couple weeks and then scrapped them. Too big and heavy to have sitting around!

If you had to do it again, would you have made the same purchase? It has a little drone between 1500 and 1700 rpms. Not bad but it does have some. The only thing that annoys me some is you can hear the dfm. I am assuming because of the deeper tone you can hear it more than a corsa or gm performance exhaust. I would put it in a medium range for overall volume but sound is very subjective I'm sure some would call it loud and others would say it is quiet. 1

Thanks for the info, I really like the unique sound. I placed my order. Update: Just finished the install of the exhaust, on the ground, by myself and it wasn't too terrible. I decided to cut the pipe, there is no way it would come out in one piece on the ground. Sounds amazing, and it was a cold start to boot. Edited August 3, 2019 by ArcherMP 1

brianc636 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 So the stock muffler is 3.5” in and out??I do not know that for sure. My GMPP exhaust is but it came installed on the truck when purchased.
curly Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Quote Pulling this one back out of the archives.... how does everyone that installed the AFE feel about it after running it for a while? I'm leaning towards this exhaust since I like the deep tone and it sounds a bit louder but not as loud as some other systems that I have heard.

TheChief Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Just got this installed ~1 week ago. It is perfect for me. Not too loud but definitely know it's there. If gm performance exhaust is 5/10 loud this would be 6.5/10 and S-type would be 7/10 loud. Sounds better than the Borla S-Type IMO. As another user stated it is not raspy sounding, but instead just straight up deep and mean! Zero to little drone. If there is any, i'm not noticing it! Not sure why this isn't a more popular option, but it def should be! 1
NewfieZ71 Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 Hey all I'm also thinking about going with the same set up. Just wondering if anyone added the afe y pipe to the system aswell? If so would it possibly make the system louder?
RaisedByWolves Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Ive had mine installed for about 3 weeks now and I love it. Super deep tone kinda like an old school big block sound. The facebook clip on page one is the best representation of what it sounds like that I have found.
STX30MAC Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Put the AFE upgraded Apollo GT muffler on. Left the flapper before the muffler. There is a little drone at 55-65mph but the sound is nice deep tone.
