I'm considering running a Bedrug/impact liner in my bed vs a spray on or drop in. The reviews seem to be very good and I was wondering if anyone on the board is or has used one in the past.

I have a bedrug in my old truck, with a rubber mat on top.  The combination has been great for hauling furniture and other things sensitive to damage.  I don't think I'd want it for hauling tougher stuff that might just tear it up though.  I also worry about condensation/moisture between the bed and the rug since I have a tonneau cover.  It gets pretty humid in the bed I've noticed, but I haven't looked under the rug.

This time around I have the factory spray-in liner and just added a Dee Zee rubber mat.  I imagine that'll be enough for most things I do, and should dry out faster even with a tonneau cover.

For years I have been using a Dee Zee rubber mat in my truck beds.  Never had any problem with anything hurting the truck.  They are pretty thick, and inexpensive.  Used to do spray in liners, but got tired of the cost (unless it came with the truck) and the fact they always look faded and dirty before long.  The last truck I did just the rubber mat, and it was great.  Just pull it out and pressure wash every once in awhile to get the nasties out from under.

I had a Bedrug brand rug in my last truck and I loved it. Since I had a cover on the bed I had no issues with water getting into the bed. Anytime I looked under the rug the bed was fine. No rust or moisture issues. Just some scuffing of the paint. I already purchased a Bedrug for the new truck and will install it once the new tonneau cover arrives.

Does anyone use some kind of a protection mat “on top” of the stock spray on liner?

would be nice to protect it without  repercussions to the stock liner. Would like to remove a topper and have my original spray liner as good as new down the road..

Someone here uses a DeeZee rubber bed mat over the OEM spray in liner.

I have a Bed Rug over the factory spray in on my 19 Denali. Had a DeeZee mat in my previous F150 and a Bed Rug in the f150 prior to that. All my trucks either have had a tonneau cover or fiberglass cap. I'd go with the mat if the bed were to be open to the elements.

Just get the BedRug "bottom" portion (they call it the BedMat).  The instructions tell you to use velcro to hold it down but I know 3 or 4 guys who just lay it in over top of the factory spray-in liner without any problems:

x2 but I bought the chevy one. The deezee seemed thinner and harder than the chevy one but it's a $150 vs. $80 so...

I have used the Dee Zee mat over the factory spray-in liner on several trucks.  Not so much for protection, but because the non-skid rubber on the mat helps keep things from flying around in the bed of the truck.

I'm looking for a lighter rubber mat to go over the spray in bed liner. Any suggestions? I had the deezee mat on my 16 and the thing was a heavy beast over 40 lbs. I am putting on a Leer cap which probably weighs 300 lbs so I'm looking for a "light" mat.

Any cheap thin ones out there?

I use the BedMat in my Denali with spray in liner. I think it works perfect. I had the complete BedRug in my last Denali and also worked perfect for a decade.

I think the BedRug is the greatest thing since free air !

It's $400.00, takes 30 minutes to install, cleans with hose, pressure, vacuum, whatever you want to use. Last for decades, fits over spray-in, can be taken back out and re-installed in 5 minutes, always looks like new, and leaves the truck bed pristine.

Had one in my previous Canyon, now have the "Impact" version in my new F-150.

Get one, you'll never be sorry.
