In 07 I was driving my 06 trailblazer ss. My son was driving my 04 Z71 GMC. When I would have to go in the field we would switch. The trailblazer wouldn’t do off road very well. When the Z71 hit 180K miles my son wanted a new ride. He was in sales doing quite well so he was going to trade the truck in. The only way the trailblazer got to stay was he had to get a truck. He handled the truck buying. He came home with a Z-71 avalanche. It was a leftover killer deal. About 6 months go by I had equipment training out of state. First time I drove the avalanche, nice truck. Halfway to my destination I’m familiar with the truck I’m looking for the 4WD dial. Next time I stop for gas l look under no front drive. What a rip off. Skid plates, rancho shocks and a name. No wonder he got such a good deal. In all my years working off road I rarely needed 4WD I had it for just in case. You just can’t trust anything when it comes to auto manufacturers.
