Nitrogen ???

Nitrogen is used in all the aircraft tires in the military.  Not sure about the civilian sector.  Also isn't it used in all race car tires?  Again, to me the small benefits in our vehicles isn't worth the cost.

I totally agree with you on all of the above. One could also add that the oxidation rate of both the tire compounds (internally) and the metal rims is reduced

Correct, military and most commercial airlines use it as well as race cars. And I guess you have to find a place that makes the cost make sense if you wanna get it. Like when I get it in a set of new tires at Tire Warehouse up by me, it’s almost free cuz it’s part of their package when you get the road hazard coverage. (Which I’ve always considered worth it on expensive A/T tires.) and in addition to the coverage if it ever IS low and you have to top it off with air, you can bring it to them and they’ll purge it properly (which means more than once) and do a pure nitrogen fill for the life of the tire. Which means you don’t have to worry about it being impractical either.

I’ve liked it since the first time trying it, and it’s easily available with those guys so I just get it. I think even without a road hazard package just a nitrogen purge/fill is only $20.
