Just find the biggest ass volume dealer you can find.  I flew from Minneapolis to St. Louis MS to get a GMC AT4 2 weeks ago.

66 MSRP

12K off

walked out the door paying 54K  about 6 grand less than anything 300 miles around minneapolis.

1 way flight was $70 and I just drove it home.  I saved 6K doing this...

Did they come off of their internet price any? I’ve been looking at Laura GMC but haven’t talked to them. I’ve got a volume dealer closer to me than Laura but they put their lowest price on the Internet and don’t come down any more. I wasn’t sure if Laura was the same way or not.

They’ve got great prices on new trucks but can seriously low-ball on trades since they sell so many new vehicles. I bought my 2016 SLT from them during a big July sale a few years ago. MSRP was $54k, sale was for $41k. Was lucky enough to have cash to put some down on the SLT and payoff then wholesale my 2012 LTZ for about 4K more than they offered for trade.

You pay their sales tax rate at Laura and if your home state is higher, you make up the difference when you register the new vehicle (at least that’s how it works in my home state).

When I was ready to get out of the 2016, Laura had every dealership in my state beat on price but I knew they’d low-ball on the trade again. Went to test drive a truck before driving out there and a local dealer made good on trade value so when it was all said and done, I actually didn’t pay any more buying locally, saved on sales tax from selling 2016 SLT as well as not having to detail it for buyer or wholesaler and didn’t have to spend time or money traveling. The trade difference (new truck price minus trade value) was the key for me. Didn’t have 0% financing on Denalis at the time.

if you’ve got a trade, give the local guys a shot - if not, chase the best price on the net.

From my experience, they typically do not when prices are that low, especially with the first year on a new platform like the T1XX. I would expect T1XX prices to be best right before any possible mid-cycle refresh but that would be a couple years off.

Dealers don't even know what the best months are for incentives.  If incentives expire at the end of the month they don't know what the following month will offer.   I found the absolute best deal in Feb which ran through Feb 28th.  My GM card earnings were doubled for Feb and I had like $3000 from that along with the $12K off MSRP.  Deals change month to month so you just never know.

Yeah, tell me about the GM earnings card. You jumped at the right time. I typically only throw a few fill ups of gas on the card to keep it active, getting more money back on other cards............but, I got screwed this time because I only had about $200 saved waiting for a their typical $2000 or $3000 top off. Seems they wised up and no more top offs this time.....their big incentive was that you could use up to $1500 of your saved earnings on a new Silvy so even if you had $3000 saved, you could only throw $1500 toward the new truck.

No matter, I used the 20% off which was $11K+ under MSRP plus dealer ate the tax differential, prep charge and boosted trade $2K over KBB excellent and I stole a $55.6K MSRP truck for $42000 even out the door plus he threw in free molded mud flaps, installed. That's 26% off MSRP.....so no sense waiting for better than 20% off double cabs or 15% off crew cabs for the start of negotiating........not going to happen..

I know I am from Canada , but for my Trail Boss i had to go somewhere else than home, they were not willing to play ball ... I emailed every GM dealership within a 2 hours drive and let them fought over it , took a quote sent it to another etc.. One GM dealer calls me and gives me the best deal ever and i accepted it right on the spot... took me about 1 month and half of shopping, emails, phone ...

Two different months and different incentives but to be honest GM's incentives are always the same they come back year after year around the same time of year ,

Truck Month - March

Truck Nation - April

Costco's Preferred Program - Summer

Employee Pricing - Fall

Red Tags - Late Fall

Holiday Pricing - Winter

Etc ...

Find a better dealer. As posted in the what did you pay for truck thread, my AT4 stickered at 66,445 and I got it for 53 flat OTD (no TTL as I had to go to Arkansas to get it). I also made them throw in a Sierra sunshade too.

Read through that thread and use the like to the spreadsheet referenced to get to your starting point based on invoice costs.

I played hard ball with the dealer I used and even went as far as finding the build date on the truck and using that time against them. Long story short, be informed but be ok walking away too. I cut out the middle man and went straight to the GM of the dealership.

Good luck and be diligent in your negotiations.

Which dealership in Arkansas did you use? I live in South Arkansas.

This is insane. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. I called the same dealership and offered $51k for an AT4 priced at $61k and they flat out told me no, even after I bargained MYSELF at came up to $53k.

For the record, I’ve been using the spreadsheet to get my numbers too.

Did you go TO the lot, or do it all by phone?

Everett is the dealership I’ve been using, but they’ve pretty much told me their internet price is what it is and there isn’t any negotiating.

One phone call and several emails.

I made it very clear that if he got to my number, I’d drive down (4 hours) and sign paperwork. I’d also finance all of the truck if I needed to.
