List Price $1829.00: https://retrax.com/retraxpro-mx/2020/gmc/sierra-3500-hd I installed the hard folding cover made by Rev that's available through the GM accessories, I got it using the business choice rewards when I bought my new truck. Probably would've ordered a Bakflip if it wasn't for the business choice rewards, it installed easy and it appears to be pretty solid. There were a few gaps in the front corners that I had to put some weather strip in but other than that it seals up pretty nice.
jpgcrna Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 I installed an X4 on mine but I am going to be sending it back. For me, the rails just don't want to be close enough from side to side to allow the cover to function well. I could shim it, but there are other problems. Even though I have it installed even a little further to the rear than the instructions say, the tailgate is a good half inch from contacting the rear weather seal when the tailgate is closed. Also, being cold outside, it doesn't want to roll up very tight because the vinyl is stiff. Overall I think the fit and finish suggest this was adapted from another truck of similar size rather than custom fit to this one. I'm not impressed. At this point I'm between the truck covers usa, american work cover jr. or the retrax PowertraxPRO xr. I can't decide. The canister is smaller on the tcusa and it has a cool toolbox. But the rails look to extend into the bed less with the retrax and it's power and I can stop it at any point, which is nice for not needing tie downs all the time. Has anyone had both of these? Does the hand bar for the tailgate step function with the rails on the retrax XR?
migrabill Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I'm going to go with the BAK revolver for my new 2500HD Denali Duramax.
BigBru Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 I am also considering the BAK X4 Revolver, but I have heard a few bad things about the longevity of the covering. Does anyone have any experience with this cover?
Cmillerjr Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 I ended up getting the soft trifold from the American Tonneau company. Looks great, American made, pretty good seal. Allows the auto up/down tailgate to work properly.
1fast ss Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 Just purchased and installed an Undercover Armorflex. Previously had an Undercover Ultra Flex on my 1500 and it did great so I stayed with Undercover. Really like the new finish on the Armorflex.
BigBru Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 I have the Backflip X4 Revolver installed on the truck. It looks awesome. Easy to use. Not too happy with how it seals so far. Dealer installed it, I'm going to loosen it up and do some adjustments. Hopefully fix some issues. I will give it a review once I have some time with it.
tbully Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 Has anyone had luck with covers that were compatible with swingout toolboxes available from GMC/Chevy? I'm looking for something to keep items close to the tailgate for easy access. But I note that many covers may have clamps/hardware that may interfere.
