Lower ball joints

I replaced my lower ball joints, pressed in and seated and there is not enough room to put the snap ring on on either side. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix?

There are 2 different ball joints, one for steel and one for aluminum kunckles. Did you possibly receive the incorrect joints?
