84942073 is the number I gave to the dealer. I just looked up the individual parts and it seems the big holdup is the 2 bolts you need. It's the only part number I'm seeing an issue with.

Well ordered 84942073 from gmpartsdirect.com,  from everything I researched it should be the the correct kit for both the 1500 and the 2500HD.

Don't waste your time with the internet parts sites (gmpartsdirect.com) for lookups on this kit.  Go to your dealer and provide them with the matrix and ask them to search the GM global P/N list for these 'kits'.  I had similar experiences online and over the phone until I physically went to the dealer's parts department.  Lastly, feel free to email the GM up fitter to verify if new numbers exist.  I found them to be very responsive.   Had they not provided me with the parts matrix to show the dealer (and make sure you have a competent parts person with a decent attitude helping you) I would not have been successful procuring them.

I may have found a kit. I'll keep everybody updated once I can confirm.

Guy, do not use the web to order this kit. Go directly to the dealer. I ordered the appropriate upgrade kit from the upfitter web site. It came on Friday, ordered three days prior. The kit came with everything you need to perform the upgrade. I just finished about an hour ago. It took me 2.5 hours. I did not use the new knee bolster though, I just cut the hole in my existing one. Worked out perfect. Everything works as it should, the back lights, the on lights, and each wire has power. real easy install, just take time. I hope this helps.

Its considerably faster if you skip the knee bolster. You have to take the whole radio out pretty much.

Having a wire grommet or wire poking tool thing is a huge help.

Would a paperclip help? Asking for a friend.

If you order the aux switches when building the truck at the dealer, does the factory build it that way,or does the dealer/ hack/ tech install them?

Received a message earlier today that my lead on one of these kits was a bust. Again, nationwide backorder. Called the dealer as recommended a few posts up. There is no new part number. I also provided the parts numbers for all items in the kit is provided by GM Upfitter. Every part number except for 1 is a special order out of 1 of 3 GM warehouses. Since they're special order I don't have much faith in being able to get everything. The one part that wasn't special order happens to be in my dealer's inventory. Don't get too excited. It's bolts that are widely used in GM vehicles, so most dealers should have them.

Just got another call from my dealer parts guy. They found a dealership in the US with kit number 84942073. They reached out to that dealer and that dealer refused to sell the part. Bad news for me may be good news for you if you're in the DFW area. Classic Chevrolet is the dealership with the only available kit in the country for trucks with the black interior and push button start.

In the meantime, I've asked my dealer to get all the parts that come in the kit. He believes there should be no trouble getting them since they show Special Order instead of Backorder. The parts are spread out between 3 GM warehouses: Lansing, MI; Reno, NV; and Los Angeles, CA. He was even willing to beat the online prices from GM Parts Online and GM Parts Direct when you factor in the added cost of shipping from those online stores. I'm looking at about $260 + tax.

My local dealer quoted me over $240, it was only $137 on gmpartsdirect.com (Which is a SC dealership) I got it delivered to my door in less than a week from them.
