Has anyone come up with a solution to the extremely uncomfortable seats in the new Chevys?

 

I took my '07 F150 in for an alignment and couldn't believe how much more comfortable the Ford is compared to my TB.

 

Anyone traded out the seats yet for more comfy ones?

Do you have cloth or leather.  I came from a 17 Yukon with all the vibration stuff in them so my 19 LT TB seats (leather) feel pretty darn good compared to my Yukon.  I see a few do take exception with them and if you have cloth, maybe a Katzkin installer could do a comfort mod and then cover in leather?  Or, could remove upholstery and do foam enhancement?  Don't even know if its possible just tossing out ideas? Good luck and keep ia posted on what you end up with.

I guess it's different for different butts/backs.  For me, my '15 Ford Lariat leather seats were terrible, and I find my TB LT leather seats the finest I've sit in in any truck recently.  Sorry for your troubles!

Are they electric? Lumbar support for lower back?

 

I'm considering doing the leather at local aftermarket shop, wonder if they can put in lumbar support?

The “butt” portion is the same shape on all trims. The adjustable lumbar might help a little bit but if you’re not happy with the general shape, nothing really to do.

 

Keep in mind that the 2007 F150 is probably akin to sinking into grandma’s worn out couch. Now, these seats do soften up a bit after some miles, but even the previous generation was softer overall. Some like it, some hate it. I’m pretty much indifferent personally.

That's what I was thinking he could try. I'd certainly ask them.  They can put heat in seems a lumbar should be doable.

they are a bit firm......at first I had butt portion moved way up and finally found a comfy setting in my truck ( took cpl months seriously).....now have flattened out butt portion and its noticeably better, still tho seats are very firm...I have cloth seats in RST trim.....wish I would have got power in passenger side tho as seats are extremely low stock.......am so so glad I have at least power seat in drivers side. I think I would have returned truck had I not.......its not the easiest truck to get comfortable in but have found a setting that I like now......I tell car wash peeps not to touch it!.....took me forever to find it

I used to think me seats in my '21 rst were not bad. I've put nearly 30k miles on it and seats seem to be more firm now then ever., which tends to create discomfort after about 20 minutes of driving.  I also had a '21 Titan pro4x and it had the most comfortable seats I ever sat in. I'm seriously considering trading in for an f150 if I can not find a solution. If anyone knows of better replacement seats or cushion replacement I would be into most ideas at this point

      Are you going to take long trips in it?  If so, try out the seats in the various trims. For me the lower trim level seats were not comfortable.

      I have a 2016 that I bought new and still own. I'm around 129,000 miles now. The biggest problem was a transmission failure about 2 years ago around 95000 miles. No warning, just failed while driving down a back road. A reman GM transmission installed and it's been fine ever since. A few other minor problems along the way. I am in no hurry to replace it. It's been paid off long ago and do plan on driving this as long as I can.   I will admit I am leery about all the additional electronics in the newer models and feel that it is just more potential problems. I think there's actually more than I would have wanted in this 2016 but so far so good. I think even if something major like lifter failure happened, it would still be cheaper to at worst, drop a new engine in than buy a new vehicle.

      I’ve own several successful businesses. I’ve bought homes and lived in different states. I’d witness several generations buy homes and survive in different economic circumstances. You get awful sippy when people have different experiences than you do. You live a life. I’ve lived a life. It seems our experience has been different. You can point out generalized statistics. Some people learn how to thrive when the odds are against them. Living in different states does make a difference in a persons quality of life and economic outcomes and opportunities. That’s a fact Jack. It’s my truth, my life. Hard work and long hours the right environment made my families life easier. And yes moving to a different state increased the odds of that happening. Stats are generalized. People who thrive don’t make excuses. They beat the odds. Others get mad and point to those statistics. I guess that’s you. My post pointed out how you helped people beat the odds. Somehow your panties got in a wad. Go figure.
