spaceman Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Has anyone tried upgrading the dome light and adding foot well lights?
oldmann Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 No, but footwell lights would be very very nice. Surprised they don't have them. Interior lighting is the one mark they missed in my book. 1
2k19Sierra Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Added footwell lights to my truck! Very nice! 1
DNTBL8 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 I would love to add this lighting, how did you do it? Did you connect them to work with the doors (off when shut, on when open)?
Chrisd534 Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 (edited) Hate to revive a semi old thread but just curious if anyone came up with a solution to the TERRIBLE interior lighting? Even when all lights are on it is very hard to see anything around the centre console area. The lights seem to point towards the driver/passenger seat but nothing shines down the middle making it very hard to see anything. Cant believe they missed the mark on this. spaceman Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 Bought some 3 light led strips and wired them into the 3rd wire (gray) of the white colored plug under the dash closest to the driver’s seat. Works great. 1

Works great. This is just for the footwell correct? Im referring to the terrible LED's where the sunroof controls would be. Doesnt even light up the cupholders if i'm fumbling trying to find something

In the RST, along with the two passenger lights the roof console contains a recessed high intensity LED pointing straight down lighting the floor console storage area; the arm rest console bin also contains LED lighting that illuminates when you lift the lid.

I was wrong about no LED down the middle.. the one down the middle is freaking tiny though and provides almost no light..

Morphy72 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Was thinking of LED interior lighting change/upgrade (*blue or red*), surprised nobody has done this to the new body style interior! If anyone has, and can let us know where to buy from that would be great!!

If anyone has, and can let us know where to buy from that would be great!! Doable if you want to add additional lighting and connect to the stock lights. the factory interior lights are SMD LEDs soldered onto the circuit boards inside the upper consoles. anything can be done with enough skill and money, but for all practical purposes they are not replaceable. I added some bolt style LED lights to my upper console to supplement the factory lighting in addition to adding floor lighting. the interior is much brighter now! one nice thing about the factory interior lights at night when you open the door the light actually shines out the open door and illuminates the ground outside (somewhat at least) but its totally inadequate to actually light up the interior. 1
