That looks great, man.  I've been looking at the 3" leveling/lift kits but this is enough to make me think about the 5" kits.  How is the Zone kit on the freeway?

Also - gotta love the look of the GMC front end.  Not just the grill that has been talked about a lot in comparison with the Chevrolet 2500, but the lines on the whole front end.  The proportions on the lift/wheels really come together well with the body lines of the fenders and hood.  Nice choice on the upgrades.

Thank you! We drove it 900 miles home to Florida from Illinois and loved it. I thought my girl would hate me by the time we made it home, but the ride was NIIIIIICE. Maybe the Fox 2.0 shocks make that big of a difference, but this is my first lifted truck with big wheels and first 2500 and I am absolutely over the moon! Pull the trigger, you won't regret it! Oh AND it fits in my garage [emoji13]d3949daab75b60e30f5676f9eb5396d6.jpg

Your truck looks great with the black trim that you're adding!

I had my red hooks re-powdered black and it made a huge difference.

Yours would look better black IMHO.  To me, they look like nipple rings on your truck!

Nipple rings ahahaha! I just black out the gmc and it looks twenty times better. When I get time I’ll do the rings.

Hi -

What dash speakers are these?  Did you find OEM plug adapters or did you have to cut?  How do these sound?  Wanting to do them too, just haven't find right ones yet.

Thanks!

Kenwood eXcelon 2 3/4”. Didn’t find OEM plugs, but soldered them. Sounds good, can tell the diff with the highs, sub also sounds good. It’s not a JL10W6, definitely budget but plug and play as well as bolt on fitted sub make it worth it. I’m happy with it.

Well fellas, I'm deployed again and missing the truck.  Figured I'd get back on here and see what you're doing to yours and I like what I'm seeing, so figured I'd share.

2020 2500HD High Country, Black on Black 6.6 Duramax. First went to black emblems and added all weather mats from the dealer. (Picked this truck up in Oct 2019, had to wait for mods to hit the market, so it started slow)  FTS 9" lift with Fox shocks and resi's.  24x14 Arkon's on 38x15.5 Fury tires.  Amp research XL steps and Bodyguard A2L Baja bumper.  Bak Revolver X2 bed cover with Bedrug bed mat.  Nicoko bumper lighting and rock lights, with Oracle wheel lights.  MTI Acoustics under-seat sub enclosure with JL 12TW3 powered with JL RD500/1 to add deeper sound to the BOSE system.  Did emblem delete and stainless steel sleeve on the exhaust tip. Also changed license and reverse lighting to daylight led bulbs.

Probably do some more minor accent lighting and the spare tire delete Hornblasters 540 next.  Would like to get differential cover swapped out and maybe some tuning in the future, just didn't want to be the first to mess with the electronics.  Also, if i can get GM to confirm that the DVD headrests marked for the High Country actually have the embroidered logo on the front, will install those too for the boys.

Keep up the inputs, always excited to see what I can do next!

Added an Undercover Armor Flex cover and the Undercover Swing Case. The Line X addition to the cover seems to be a great idea. I previously had the Undercover Ultra Flex on my 1500 and it was awesome. Hoping the new one lives up to the old one.

That's the look I'll be going for when I build my bumper. It will also have receiver recessed into it so I can maneuver my boat easier in the back yard or other storage. On hold until I get some house projects out of the way first. Hoping I can get started before winter. Also plan to get a retrax tonna cover and build a rectangular tube light bar/roll bar.

Just picked up my new Denali a month ago. So far had the sled deck built for it Ceramic coated, blacked out gmc logos, blacked out side marker lights, hardwired a radar detector in now just waiting for BDS to release their 4”lift kit to get some new rims and rubber.

What’d you use to black out the side markers? They look pretty dark.

I blacked out mine with "VViViD Air-Tint Dark Black Headlight Taillight Tint Air-Release Vinyl Wrap Film 17.75 Inches x 60 Inches Roll"

It's been a few months and it's holding up well so far. Can't beat blacking them out for less than $15 dollars.d8d044780b9e111dc93a426cf09c6144.jpg1ae7f90e9d6a66ff9cad7e8faff74667.jpg

    • I’m definitely interested to hear the end result here.
    • My 2025 Silverado 1500 had to receive a brand-new engine (long block) under warranty last month at only around 16,500 miles. Before the replacement, the truck repeatedly displayed "Engine Oil Level Low" warnings, even though the Oil Life Monitor still showed around 50% remaining after about 6,000 miles since my last oil change. After seeing the warning several times, I checked the dipstick with the engine cold, and the oil level was completely normal. The next day, the message escalated to "Add Engine Oil." At first, I assumed it was just a faulty oil level sensor, so I brought the truck to the dealership. After inspecting the engine, they found internal cylinder wall scoring and ultimately replaced the entire long block under warranty. Before this happened, I was planning to install a 4-inch lift and suspension upgrade on my truck. After needing a new engine at just 16,500 miles, I honestly don't see the point anymore. I also contacted GM to ask whether my vehicle qualified for a buyback, but I was informed that it does not at this time. Anyway, this experience has left me with serious concerns about the long-term reliability of this engine. I sincerely hope NHTSA expands the current investigation or recall to include 2025 model and performs a thorough inspection of affected vehicles. My biggest concern is that these engines may fail shortly after the powertrain warranty expires. If GM truly stands behind this engine, then at the very least, please consider extending the powertrain warranty to 10 years for affected owners. That would go a long way toward restoring customer confidence.
    • Without exception but then I'm the odd duck, right? I know what goes into that test, how it is calculated and thus how to beat it. But EPA values are often not beaten by the general public and the government has in past years adjusted the means and methods to come to those values to more closely approximate "Joe Average".    The only real trick to beating that EPA average is don't drive like "Joe Average".    It's the same method you used to profit from "Economic Migration" and in doing so beat the 'stats'. But you, like me, are not "Joe Average".     The thing you don't seem to grasp is this "Purchasing Power Index" isn't forward looking. It doesn't predict what it going to be but looks backward and states what it was. They are not telling us what the THINK, they are telling us what they MEASURED. Example:    Wife says "I'm going to lose 40 pounds by Christmas". May she does, maybe she doesn't but the doctors office who weighed her when she made that statement and again at Christmas only REPORTS what the RESULT was. You and I can banter about what was possible and what aunt Tilly did till the cows come home but the result is the result. Arguing otherwise is.....irrational. That's all I'm saying. This isn't about:      What you are calling a 'Statistic' is a RESULT not a CALCUATION and as a result the RULE. Like gravity as a rule, it can not be broken.
    • Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. Years later, your thread is still helping Silverado owners.   I bought my 2025 Silverado 1500 in January 2025, and I've had what feels like the exact same rattle since day one. After reading your findings, I believe my truck has the same issue with the cable carrier contacting the rear sliding window. To be honest, I had pretty much given up on pursuing the issue. It wasn't until I recently drove another brand's pickup that I realized just how quiet their cabin was—and how noisy mine has been all along. On my truck, the rattle happens on almost any paved road, gets even worse on rougher pavement, and I can even hear it during braking and acceleration.   I actually referenced your thread when submitting my case to GM, hoping they'll recognize this as a recurring issue instead of treating it as an isolated incident. The reason I reached out to GM first is because my dealership told me they would need to keep the truck for at least two days just to diagnose the problem. I was concerned that even after two days, they still might not be able to identify the source of the rattle before giving the truck back to me. I had also asked a few dealerships about this issue during previous service visits, but none of them seemed to know what was causing it or had a solution. That's why I decided to contact GM directly first, hoping they might already have an official repair procedure or guidance for this issue.   I also hope GM eventually comes up with an official fix for this problem. I have a feeling there are many Silverado owners experiencing the same rattle, but most either choose to live with it or simply don't know what the cause is.   Really appreciate you taking the time to document your diagnosis. Your post is still making a difference years later.
