MPG w/level and 33's

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, let's add a little more clarity to the thread for others who view this in the future. . Engine size, 4x4 or 2wd, the amount of level/ lift, tire type: all terrain, Highway Tire, mud tire, and year. It'd be cool to see how much of a variance there is. Cheers

I have bilstein 5100 on 3rd notch for 1.75" lift. Nearly 33" (32.8") BFG K02 Tires.

I can still pull down 20 - 22 if I drive 65 -68.

If i went your speed i'd prob get the same mpg as you.

On a 50 mile 2 lane road with cruise set at 58, I averaged 28 mpg.

As others have said speed kills mpg when you're driving a brick with the frontal area of a sheet of plywood.

good info...thanks.  Yeah it just is what it is when making that sort of time.

88mph would last only a few minutes here, then it would be zero while you're pulled over lol.

no kidding. Texas is a different world.

We don't have any roads with a limit over 70.

GA has large stretches of most interstates at 70mph, the GeorgiaStatePatrol allow an unspoken 10mph over the limit speed. (i've even passed them going 80/70 while they were closer to 70 without incident).

in August 2019, when I first got my 2018 5.3L Z71 crew cab, I got 25.5mpg on the highway (stock configuration).

I drove up through the Appalachian mountains last week and averaged 21-22mpg (10mph over posted limits) after a 2" urethane level kit. (still stock wheels/tires).

I can get up to 19 mpg (truck calculated) if I set the cruise around 70. Speedometer is 3-4 mph off in the 70 mph range because I haven't done a tune. On my daily 25 mile commute, with *several* hard accelerations and cruising 75-80 I usually get about 17-17.5 mpg(Again, Truck Calculated).

I also haven't bothered to calculate milage by hand because I haven't driven on a long trip in a while to measure gps distance between gas stations.

34" x 11" ko2 tires (measures about 33" tall when mounted on the truck)  2.25" Procomp lift.

6.2L, 8 speed transmission, 3.23 gears, magna flow 3.5" muffler welded in place of stock muffler and flapper , drop in air filter, 93 octane

17.2 mpg driving in rush hour traffic on the way to work. 19 on the way home keeping the cruise control set. Probably about 12 miles interstate and 10 miles on back roads
