Bad TPMS?

I bought a set of brand new takeoff AT4 20 inch rims online. The freight company dropped them off yesterday. I checked the tpms to make sure they worked and only 3 of the 4 tires will learn to the truck with my tpms tool. The tire that would not learn I tried letting out 10 psi. Then adding 20 psi back but neither helped wake up the sensor. Anything else I can try before assuming the tpms sensor is either bad or has a dead battery?

 

Also all four of my stock tires releaned back to the truck on the first try so I don't think it's anything wrong with my truck or tpms tool.

Take it for a drive and get it above 40mph and then go home and try to learn the sensors to the truck.

Yep a good drive should wake it up if not then 100% it is bad.

Well the guy I bought them from gets sets in new takeoffs from a local dealer. Must be the dealer mixed up a set with one that had the tpms pulled. The valve stem on one tire looks a little different and reads 0519. The other three stems read 0319. So my guess is that one tire just doesn't have a sensor.

The seller is sending me a new tpms so hopefully that will solve the problem.

If the tool didnt work just order a new tpms.  I've been through this so many times, the tool is the best.

When they are programmed for the vehicle they wake up. Also not all 433mhz sensors are compatible the computer is set for a certain program range. I run into this all the time at work on vehicles that are produced at the beginning or end of production runs. Example vehicle says it’s a 2015 made at the end of 2014 I program the sensors for 2015 they won’t upload to vehicle I program them for 2014 and they work. That’s why now before I install any TPMS sensors I program them and make sure they upload to the vehicle.
