Here's a crazy idea that I had about re-opening the country.  If a person wants to go out and take a chance that they get infected with COVID-19, because they really needed a haircut or just had to go into that casino, then there are consequences if they do get infected.  They get placed on the bottom of the list for medical treatment, no matter how severe the symptoms.  Their insurance doesn't cover the cost, because they disregarded social distancing recommendations.

And this is absolutely reasonable, because if you're willing to run the risk, then that risk shouldn't become a financial burden for an insurance company or medical facility.  People at high risk pay higher premiums for both health and life insurance.  If you still want coverage to take that risk, then be prepared to pay a significantly higher premium for your insurance.

Any takers?  Still wanna risk it under these conditions?

Well first off there appears to be more infected people who didn’t realize it than originally thought. So let’s take your thoughts a-bit farther. And add other at risk as you call it behavior. So you’re insurance will cover you at one price to only go back and forth to work. Any extra driving for anything other you pay more money. All you have to do is consent to is tracking. And they get to say what at risk behavior is. You gamed? There’s lots of things that can be done and still social distance. You give an business owner an opportunity, they’ll surprise people. This isn’t a one size fits all.

It stopped being informative, and veered into stupid & dangerous, when Chump started spitballing.  Smart people stop talking once they are out of information.  s.m.r.t. people keep going.

Yes I see

Same could go for people who won't wear helmets on motorcycles.  Sign a waiver that says the ER won't treat you.  What about people who eat fast food?  Lowest on the list for cardiac care?

Absolutely.  When you get life insurance all of these things are factored into your premium.  My policy prohibits me from racing SCCA which I used to do.  I pay a higher premium for my wife's pre-existing condition so yeah, let's even the playing field.

I'm game.  Lets not pretend that we're not already being tracked by our cell phones or modern day vehicles.  As for risk behavior, sure, give me a list so I can determine if it's worth it to me.  There's been so much talk about how the economy and how it's being hurt.  If we open up the economy again and there's a surge of people in hospitals, won't that tank the insurance companies that have to pay for the services?  Or how about people that can't afford insurance and would potentially have huge medical bills to pay.  They're financially burdened and if they never pay, then those providing the services are now burdened.

So far it appears the government is already under writing most of this. If the states go by the phases they’ll probably under right that too. Remember most of the people going forward who are most at risk are people who should stay home. We’re finally getting away from the first wave. The ones who weren’t warned. Now we know. We can proceed with caution.

Agreed.  With Georgia opening up today, we'll find out how the southern states should fare with warmer climates.  I hope everything goes well, cause I've got family down there and Georgia is a beautiful state to visit.

The story of the malaria drug rolls on. It may be not as affected as originally hoped. In the beginning there was nothing to battle the bug. It shows promise. An excited president makes it known about the encouraging reports. Oh Oh, the kiss of death. Trump encouraging the drug. Now the opposition has to find a way to discourage its use and demonized the president. Even if there’s just a percentage it helped. It helped. The only thing I may add. If you had stage 4 lung cancer, would you take chemotherapy? Look up those odds and side effects, brutal. I’ve seen it, not pretty.

There seems to be a shortage of the hydroxycloroquine now, which is a new problem for people that were actually taking it for lupus.

Trump causes all of his own problems.  If he were willing to admit when he's wrong, instead of diverting the blame or claiming that he was misunderstood, then he'd get more support.  I'm not saying everyone, obviously there are people that won't change their minds and that's on both sides.  And I'm not just referencing this pandemic.  For the past 3 years he has yet to admit any mistakes on his part.  It's always someone else's fault.  All great leaders admit their shortcomings and try to grow from them.  All past presidents have done this.  Unfortunately, Trump is incapable of owning up to his mistakes and this has and always will cause friction with the media.

After at least 3 unfounded investigations. He has no choice to act the way he does. They’re gearing up for 2 more presently. Showing any kind of weakness, kiss of death.

He acted like this his entire life. And admitting one's mistakes is not a weakness.

Just saw the president say that he sarcastically made the comments about disinfectants to see what the press would say.  What would he expect people to do when he makes those statements?

Birx said the president made the comments because he hadn't fully digested the scientific info he was briefed on.

The new press secretary said the media irresponsibly took his statements out of context.

They really need to sit down and get their story straight.

I normally like bits and pieces of a post because they ramble on too long.  But everything here are good points.  As for the virus, there are tons of viruses, most not as deadly as others, but that is not the reason I will sit tight.  Lack of satisfactory information and testing on behalf of this virus will cause me to sit tight.

Sidebar; I saw a picture of Trump throwing down a box of Clorox chewables,  based on the context just thought that was pretty funny.

He likes to throw things around to get feed back. His mistake was doing it around the unfriendly. The middle finger to the press tonight was priceless, by not taking questions. My last political post tonight before I get a warning.[emoji106]

    • I'm not sure if this should be a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - AC Delco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles, 119k total miles.  When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so I did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out, it could've been the wrong fluid. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material, scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance. I had a panic stop prior to this issue which may have contributed from what I read. And on the first attempt to bleed and hydraulic test the scanner listed things to look for and one was any gaps between the pad and rotors which I did notice on the RF corner and I removed the outer pad (where the gap was) cleaned it and the hardware and didn't see a gap after that but will re-check it. I read that if pushing the caliper pistons back then you're supposed to open the bleeder so as to not push fluid backwards into the abs module or it will damage it. If that's true then that's also a possibility from the previous owner having the brakes changed before I got it. I'm using an XTool ip500 scanner. Any suggestions, questions and comments welcome.
    • Next Friday will be my 6 week point from my right knee replacement.  The surgeon says it will be fine if I choose to drive after this checkup.  I know I could drive now but best to do as my surgeon (and my wife) tell me.  Richard compared being 62 to 72.  I remember when I was in my early 60's I was experiencing slow but regular decline in my mobility.  Thanks to good medical support,  i continued to fight the speed and spread of this decline. During my 60's I worked on non-surgical methods and just when I turned 70, my orthopedic surgeon recommended joint replacements.  In a little over a year, I had one shoulder and both knees replaced.  This hasn't been a terribly fun experience, but worth the discomfort as my future mobility health trajectory has reversed.  It is a treat to now be watching my mobility. balance and confidence steadily improve!
    • Grommets with the right cement should be perfectly fine.
    • This is going to take allot of Assembly
