I have the larger cab with cloth seats. And I do like how they added storage behind the back area but my god the seats are hard and not fit for any kind of comfort especially for a longer trip. Are the leather seats the same in the back?  I would assume they have a little more cushion being that they have to be in the higher levels.   The other night I had a few drinks and got to sit in the extra roomy back seat but man was I disappointed.

There’s only two versions of the back seat, and since you have the storage in yours, you have the fancier one. Leather, cloth, Denali...don’t matter, all the same underneath.

Thank you for the info. That is unfortunate.  I'm surprised nobody sat back there for an extended period of time during the design period.

As with a lot of things on vehicles when it comes to design, Seat comfort is very subjective. Cant please everyone.

I dont think they pleased anyone. My father in law said the back seats suck compared to the front the day I got it. I didnt think anything of it until I had the chance to try.  Just comes down to needing more cushion over the hard base of the seat.

The front seats are pretty damn stiff too. My driver’s side has broken in nicely, but when I sit in the passenger seat I am surprised at how firm it is in comparison, having not been sat in nearly as much.

I rarely have adults back there, but it does seem a little foolish of GM to add heated back seats, more head and legroom, a flatter floor...but then design such underwhelming back seats!

Ever been in the back seat of a Ford....theback seats are not designed for comfort..everyone want them to fold as slim as possible for more storage ect...cant have both

My 2011 thru 2018 Fords I had all had crap back seats, and ai also find my Front Denali seats much more comfy than my ford fronf buckets

But again this is the first GM ive had since 2006

Last time I was in the back of any type of Ford, it was a Police car, and yes it was very uncomfortable....

I have the smaller quad-cab on my 2019.  In my 2016 I had the larger crew cab.  In both cases,  it's been my impression that these seats are designed for the comfort of young kids only which is disappointing.  In either case, the one thing that I wonder,  IF/WHEN GM will ever come out with the reclining back seats? Even if they just slide forward and recline a little, perhaps 2-3 inches back, I believe that would be a really good feature for us to have available.  Long overdue.

Those back seats IMO were never designed to sit in very long they are called CREW cab for that reason. My ext cab was designed to hold my junk my stuff. Hey people these are trucks.

Hmmm, my double cab truck was definitely not a comfortable experience in the back seat. Ok for a quick ride across town, not cool for a long trip. My 2020 crew cab is dramatically better. I’ve done a few 5-6 hr road trips with fully grown adults in the back and they all said it was really comfortable and they felt they had massive amount of leg room etc. I have the heated seats in the back and that was a hit too. Tons of room for backpacks on the floor, USB ports to keep their devices charged and the hotspot lets everyone be online too.
My son is 6’3 and loves that I finally have a vehicle he can fit into without folding himself in half ! No seating complaints here so far.

    • 2024 Chevrolet 2500 HD Custom 6.6 Gas Canadian built Truck  I tried to search for my previous thread on this topic but cant find it so my apoligies  for starting another one    #1   Since we have owned our truck purchased new it has this strange noise after using the remote start function  you press the remote start and you hear it start but right at the end of it starting it almost seems like it wants to start again after the truck is running .   There is no gap in time it is right at the end of the start . Almost sounds like when you have started a car/truck and its running and then you try and start it again and you get that grinding noise ,sort of     #2  You can only hear this if you are standing outside of the truck and near the truck  you cant hear it when you start the truck from inside  the cab . So it may very well be happening when starting the truck that way as in normally    #3   This only happens when it is started after sitting . For how long I don't know but it happens after sitting overnight for sure and it wont do it if you stop the engine after starting and then start it again  I have had it in to the Dealership before concerning this but they did not have the truck  when it was cold to hear it . Now its back in the Dealership left it overnight so they could possibly hear the problem . They said they tried and nothing happened . Well they did not know what they were listening for . I started the truck remotely and BINGO it makes the noise . Oh that sounds weird they say . We need to look into it ! I have left for this week at the Dealership    Does your 2024 2500 HD gas do this ?  Any of you fellas care to take the time and trouble to film this operation from a cold start  so I can hear what your sound like  Really  would like to know if this is anormal sound  Thank You Fellas !!
    • 2026 Z71.  The other day I was backing a trailer into the barn.  The alarm was going off just because the trailer was in the field of the warning sensors when you get too close to something.  For some reason now the warning alarm doesn't work anymore.  It used to go off when I was just normally backing my truck into garage.  I still have the guidelines in the back up camera.  Is there a button or something to push to turn the sound/Alarm on and off?  I have the touch screen in this truck.  There isn't a "P" on the dash except for the parking brake.  I can't find anything in the touch screen under settings or vehicle.  Thank you in advance.
    • Well one of our most reliable vehicles was sold yesterday. The first and only I gave for free to a grandkid. If they got skin in the game they take care of it. My wife bought new. Five years later my daughter got it to use. We got it back and gave it to our grandson after graduation. He did zero maintenance just oil changes. When the AC quit he drove his mother’s car rather than get it fixed. Instead he just bought a beater and sold the Elantra.
    • I usually do as well or better than the sticker for mileage. Usually better going west than east. North then South. Wind makes a difference. I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist. But it did dawn on me I’m going by the vehicle calculation. Now that would be interesting.
