Personalities clash.....

The Chevy dealer here has all young salesman, not one over 30.   My friend Kevin wanted a new Silverado DC 5.3L and he wants what he wants and no changing his mind.  I was wandering the showroom while he dealt with a young salesman and about 15 min later he comes to me and says lets get the hell out of here, what a bunch of a-holes.  The salesman was pushing some lease deal on I-4 Silverado CC's which they had a few off.  Kevin wanted a double cab.   Keven kept telling him he drives a 100 miles a day to work at hospital (lab tech) but salesman would not let him get the truck he wanted. The manager even came in and they started double teaming him so he got up and walked out.   Went to another Chevy dealer and found the truck he wanted and they never pushed any lease on him, glad for his business.   Btw, Kevin is about 45 yo

I had a dealer that was a Hyundai- GMC, Buick dealer. I bought 4 Hyundai’s and several GMCs over at least 15 years. I sent people to them. They knew me by site. They loss me over low balling my trade. It was their brand. I bought a Camry. I couldn’t believe the difference in the way I was treated. They sent me discounts in the mail for service. They would call after service. Don’t put up with any negativity. There’s always a better dealer. I still take my wife’s Genesis to the original dealer for service. That car is ten years old just out of warranty. So the sales people notice and come out. I tell them we’re still a few years before we’ll be ready. The few times we’d drop it I’d pick her up in the Camry. That could have been a sonata I’d say. You blew it, it wasn’t the car. It was attitude.

First you speak of a lease and then a trade.  Were you expecting them to pay off the remaining lease term and cut you a smoking deal on a new rig?  That's asking for quite a bit right now, as the supply is low and they have no need to "deal."

Depends heavily on the salesman, it seems. I almost bought a 2019 SLE from our local dealership and the salesman I talked to was really good other than trying to convince me that GM wouldn't be putting the 10 speed in the 2020s. Heck, he was willing to let me do an overnight test drive with a truck I told him I was definitely not buying. My boss also leased his personal truck and all our work trucks from them. However, my brother got a crappy salesman when he bought his 2019 SLT there and resolved never to go back. They refused to give his girlfriend the bonus or whatever it is for referring him and his truck didn't come with a trailer hitch, even though the SLT comes stock with the trailering package.

Guess I never understand why someone comes on a chevy forum and tells us they purchased a Ford, then tries to discredit the brand.........seriously, makes no sense and the majority probably could care less.

If we wanted a Ford we wouldn't be here.

Gracefully move on and stop bashing the old to make the new look better.

Dealers are dealers.......I can find well over a dozen Ford or Chevy dealers within my state that are an @$$ to deal with.....so, do I switch brands because of that alone? NO, I find a dealer that easy to deal with and make my purchase.

Makes absolutely no sense IMHO>

Can't blame them for not wanting to pay off a lease,  that's just silly.
