Biggest issue for me with the T1 space is not the generous leg room, but the lack of telescopic range of the steering wheel. I feel I have to reach further to the wheel on my T1 than I did in the same seat/pedal position on my GMT900. I hope they give us a few more inches of telescopic travel on the steering wheel in the 2022s.

I have noticed that too.  But that's because we got more legroom without the benefit of more steering wheel extension.  I have long arms, so it's not a problem for me.  But I definitely notice the difference.

Hey gang.   I’ve not been here in a year or so because I sold my ‘18 Sierra SLT due to a forced daily commute that had me driving >150 miles, not all on the highway.

But every now and then I come back.   And to great satisfaction I find a 7-page discussion involving one of my favorites, the Grump.  Y’all don’t miss this about GB:  he’s a damn sight smarter than just about every one of us.   You’re giving him exactly what he wants.  And I’m completely enjoying the read.

Thanks guys.

Well, at least it will be easy to wrap your burly, hairy bear arms around her dainty little power plant of a heart.

4.3 Ecotec3 on E-85             297 hp @ 5,300 rpm / 330 lb/ft @ 3,900 rpm

2.7 Turbo I4 on premium     310 hp @ 5,600 rpm / 348 lb/ft @ 1,500-4000 rpm

4.3 Ecotec3 on E-10 87       18/24 City / Highway 2015

2.7 Turbo I4 on premium     20/23

4.3 Ecotec3 on 87                 22/28 Pepper life time

That is allot of complexity for energy numbers that only matter at WOT to get an advertised EPA increase in town at a 40-50% increase in fuel cost per mile. Is it worth it? You decide. I'm not moving.

This is what happens when you cherry pick one number to support a claim of "BETTER".

Okay can we all zip our pants up?

Well, I have the 5.3L. I'm glad you enjoy your V6. Personally, it's not as much about power for me as it is about my truck not sounding like a leaf blower when I mash on the right pedal. ? To each their own, and I have no disrespect for your choice to live with a V6 in your truck.

From my first new truck a 1985 Silverado at 21 was a 305 V8. Had many new GM trucks and were always V8's. I can't stand a V6. My opinion. And when you get on it, it sounds more like a crop duster on steroids than a leaf blower. Just an awful sound. 2 stroke leaf blowers (all 2 strokes) sound cool to me. I love my 2 stroke motorcycles ?

The 4.3L belongs in the Colorado and Canyons.  I’ve said it for years. That’s the motor that truck deserves. Then the ZR2 needs the 5.3l as an option. Thing would be a complete beast with it in it.
GM needs to step up there game with some performance trucks. Street and off-road worthy

Sounding like a Porsche is just awful.

?

Leaf blower, pashaw.

Even on the matt it is barely audible.

If this was 1954 and the 4.3 liter six was the GM Blue Flame Six in the Corvette at just over 100 hp I'd be looking for more motor. But as it is capable of over 300 hp in current tune.......

Ya all minds are stuck in the 50's.

Isn't that Cadillac that is quicker than a Vette a V6 with a hair drier?

A 5.3 RCSB was a pretty rare bird and extinct now.

That would interest me for about a week.

Then not being able to pass a gas station would get old.

Oh baby baby. A 4.3 in a Colorado? 13 second quarters and 40 mpg.

I second that!!

Yea, GM needs a......

:idiot:

But it would have to be a RCSB ?

Totally agree with you on this one. GM could have charged another 5k if the ZR2 came with at least a 5.3 option along with the 3.6

Any maybe spruced up the interior a little more.

Lol we just made the conceptual jump from a 4.3L GM V6 to a Porche, and still expected it to be a relevant example of my distaste for a V6 sound? C'mon, Grumps... you're more intellectually honest than this.

Just making a point and the point was made.

What is dishonest (and pointless) is defining a motors usefulness by it sound.

A sound that in stock trim is nonexistent. The heater motor makes more NOISE.

Equally dishonest is a comparison to a leaf blower.

Dishonest conceptual jump?

I was second in that boat.

Right?

?

You guys really want to argue opinions?

Okay I will stipulate you HATE the sound and hate it so much you are willing spend large sums of $$$ to avoid it.

We good now?

    • And to top it off finally.......................these small GM LS engines are designed to SPIN!!!!!  Why choke them down to just off idle for cruising.  Why/how the "bean counters" have influenced the "engineering department" at GM is beyond me.   They took a solid platform of an engine and turned into a joke in OEM form!!!
    • Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving
    • Yes, and only a couple years before delivery. 🙄
    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
