So if I'm understanding this right, all 8 speeds '15-'18 should have the 2 piece harness from the factory, unless it was previously replaced during the time period a few yrs back when GM was using the 1 piece replacement harness?

So my 5.3 is doing this and has been for awhile. Scheduled this with dealership and was told it needed a trans flush. At the time it wasn’t throwing any codes and it was close to original factory powertrain warranty. After reading this post that I just found I believe they knew exactly what was wrong and decided to turn the other cheek because it was close to the end of warranty. Does anyone know if the have changed their stance to include the 5.3 ? I’m thinking it might be time to contact my lawyer and see if a class action suit might be in order.

Has anyone had any luck getting the Transmission Sensor covered on a 2015?

I have a 2015 Silverado 6.2 8 speed LTZ with 71,000 miles. The transmission sensor has just started to fail and is turning on the check engine light. My dealer quoted $1392.66 for the repair.

It looks like the 2016's are covered in the N192291660 special coverage, and there are TSB's for the 2017's.

I have a case open with Chevrolet.

I was lucky to have mine covered under the extended 7 year warranty I purchased.  Had it done last May.  Grateful I had that warranty or I probably would have had to pay. Best $2K i spent,  Warranty is expiring end of October.

FYI for anyone reading this thread, this only applies to the 6.2L + 8 speed. No luck on the 5.3L + 8 speed.

WTF? They must have used different sensors and harnesses in those attached to a 5.3, or the torque of the 6.2 causes problems in these electronic parts (LOL). Those with the 5.3 have the same issue. SMDH.

They do cover the silverado 5.3 8 speed. Going in tomorow

Has anyone with a 5.3lt truck successfully gotten this special coverage applied outside of an extended warranty? It boggles my mind how only the 6.2 is covered while the 5.3 has the same 8 speed transmission and obviously has the same issues.

Going in tommorow 2016 silv ltz  8spd.   Said it was covered

I just started getting the same 2 fault codes in my 2017 Silverado 6.2 8 speed. Wonder if mine will be covered under this tsb? Even though it says it's only for 2016s I took delivery of my truck August 1st of 2016.

Did you ever get it serviced ? Was it covered ?

Hi, can you tell me if the dealer covered your 5.3L? Having the same issue with my 2016 Silverado z71 5.3L

My 2016 5.3L 8sp was not covered so I replaced the harness myself. https://www.gmwholesaledirect.com/oem-parts/gm-automatic-transmission-wiring-harness-24046895?c=az0xJnE9MjQyOTg3NTc%3D

I think the part was $30 plus about $150 for gasket/filter/fluid. I didn't take the exhaust apart, just used a jack to move the whole engine/trans up for clearance. The only fiddly part was getting the correct fluid level back in.

Sounds like you need a transmission.  6 speed?  Or 8 speed?  Your symptoms sound like typical 6 speed failure in these.

Great, mine just threw this code at 122,000 miles - 2015.  So it's just outside the special coverage.   I guess I'll call the transmission shop that's been changing my fluid and ask them about replacing it.  My Truck won't fit on my 4 post lift, and the part is cheap it seems.  I don't feel like doing it myself, too many other things going on in the garage right now with projects.  It's not shifting harsh and I can see the transmission temp is fine on the DIC - it was 155 when it set the code today.  Is there any urgency to get it done now vs just run it for now and change when the fluid is due again?
