Hi I am new here so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the correct spot, but I'm having big electrical problems with my 2018 GMC Sierra 1500. it started about 1.5 weeks ago, I turned my truck on one cold morning(-15C) and my speakers were making crackling noises with no music coming out at all, no door chimes or signals either. I noticed my volts were around 15.5-16, but it never went over 16. the music would come back on when I turned the engine off and just had it on ACC mode. I called my mechanic and he told me it was probably my alternator, so I paid to Get that replaced, he returned it and nothing changed. still having the exact same problems. I called him again and he took it back in and looked at it some more. The speakers now crackle for the first 5ish minutes of the vehicle turning on, and then eventually smooth out as the volts settle down to around 14.3V. I put in all new speakers around the truck about 6 months ago, with an Amp and subwoofer, but I am just now experiencing problems with it. I tried taking the power cable off of the amp, and its still doing it to the door speakers and tweeters. I am now out $1100 and still having this issue, if ANYONE could give me some advice or something I could try that would be awesome,
Thanks!

I have a 2003 yukon sle 2wd. The radio, windows, gauges on right side of the dash all stop working. The abs, tc and air bag lights come on. Now if you press the brake the radio and windows work. The gauges sometime come back on. The vehicle runs good now stalling issues or anything. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what could cause this.

Ever since I got my transmission rebuilt I started hearing a metallic sparking sound whenever I started my truck cold.
Also my truck seemed to be having a slight stutter when I started it, almost as if it wanted to shut off, but its only for a half second.
I thought it had something to do with the battery going bad (had it for 3-4 years), so I took it to get tested and failed the test. So I got a new battery but the problem persisted.
I then took out the starter to get it tested and it passed its test. After installing it back the sound actually got worse and not only made the sound during the turning of the motor but also while driving. The sound goes away as the vehicle heats up and it will not make the noise again until the truck has time to cool down.
One thing I have noticed that may be a problem is I am missing the flywheel/starter plastic cover. It sits between the flywheel and starter so I am not sure if it also acts as a shim and is causing the issue.
Any ideas what I’m dealing with here?

Bought this vehicle brand new. I love it, and perfect for myself, my family, and the fact it's Diesel puts the cherry on top for me. But... now things have started. We have currently 1,137 miles on the vehicle and had the first message populated:
- Service steering column lock. (see photo)
Everything else worked, remote start, standard start, and the vehicle had zero issues. The following day from our road trip, we had to go to the DMV with our out-of-state paperwork to submit for plates. My wife now received a new message.
- Service emissions system. See owners manual. (see photo)
She drove to the DMV and left to get the smog paperwork. Then a new issue:
- Vehicle remote start isn't working. (see photo)
She is in the car and tries to start... Nothing. She tries again. It starts, and she drives it to a local dealer. They come to look and scheduled us for an appointment. She drives the vehicle now, and Onstar now shows the emission issue. ( see photo ) We now can't register the vehicle in California, because, the check engine light is on, emissions warning, and they won't smog it until it's corrected.
Awesome...
I noticed that none of these issues happened until it updated the software in the vehicle. I'm hoping this is something that can be fixed. I've been looking around for answers and only finding more issues that are all pretty shitty. Sorry, no better way to say it. I've also seen a post of people saying, “deal with it, it's a new breed of vehicles,” etc. I’d challenge that answer. No one should pay this much for a vehicle and face these issues I'm reading about.
So here's what I'm going to do, document everything, and I mean everything. This will be for everyone who may have this issue now or who may come across it.
My opinion...but I'm not a mechanic, is that there is a massive software and hardware issue with these models. I believe GM internally has to know about this from Dealers, Customer Service, Compliance Reports, etc. I'm sure all issues are in the queue to be address or fixed. I do, however, feel with the challenges of physical hardware that they chose a vendor that was most cost-effective, which is a component of these issues a long with the capability to support the software complexity of the current models.
Or maybe I'm just wearing a tin hat, who knows.
So, I open this up to you. Any advice, similar issues, outcomes you've faced, and other topics, please comment below.
May the journey of dealership visits begin. Hopefully, this journey isn't to long.

So i had to change my starter about a year ago and over the last few months every other start there would be a grind noise almost. The noise was as if the starter was loose but it wasnt. I was able to continue to start it until finally it the starter wouldn’t engage. Nothing to it all. So my boss helped me decide that I just needed a new starter Even though i just replaced it not even a year ago. As i was changing starter somehow I managed to rip the wiring out lf the harness for the crankshaft position sensor so it wouldn’t crank at all without that working properly so i ended up getting the harness off our black truck at the farm and that part should be good now but now i am not showing up any indicator on my gears but shifter is working i was under the truck while i had someone shift and its moving the cable and the selector and
Without it showing a gear or to be in Park it wont Crank what can I do
