Morning guys. I wanted to see if what I am experiencing is normal or not.  2020 AT4 Duramax.

My Heated Steering Wheel seems to have hot spots and barely warm spots.  From 10-2, the wheels gets nicely warm.  8-10 & 2-4 is mildly warm, and the lower portion dosent seem to get warm at all.  Is that seem to be on par with yours?

and how do I tell if my wireless charging is working.  I have had an iPhone and my Galaxy A51 all show as charging on the radio screen.  But the phone never gains any battery power.  Should I talk to the dealer or is it the phones themselves.  Note - this is the first time I have ever had wireless charging.  Both phones had a phone case on them..

Thanks

-X

Icon on screen should change when it is charging vs not charging.

Green thunderbolt equals charging.

FWIW, if phone needs a charge I plug it in because using the cable charges way faster.

(and without wireless CP/AA the cable is needed to run any of those apps.)

Yeah, same. And as far as the wireless charging, it’s pretty much worthless with my iPhone 11 Pro. Lucky to gain a percent or two after a shorter trip. Feel like it worked a bit better on my X but it still wasn’t great.

Steering wheel sounds normal to me, mines warmer on the sides than the bottom, assuming as to do with the wiring at those points.

The dash screen will tell you when the phone is charging.  That said, I have found it is pretty finnicky, goes off and on, and highly variable phone to phone.  Sometimes it charges well, sometimes not.  Charges my phone and the wife's usually pretty well.  Placement is also key I've found, make sure it sits right at the very bottom.

Thicker phone cases affect wireless charging. It isn’t a defect with the charger, it is the case creating resistance. The same happens on wireless charging pads in the house. If you have an Otterbox or equivalent, it isn’t going to work as well

I think the heated steering wheel in my 14 definitely was more heated than in my 19.  The whole wheel in the 14 seemed to heat, vs as the OP notes a sectional heating.

Steering wheel is pretty much the same in my 19.  As far as the wireless charging, it works great on my Samsung S8 but not on my wife's A71 or on her old IPhone.  The lightning bolt will light up green in the infotainment screen if it is charging but will turn yellow within about 15 to 30 seconds if there is an issue with charging.
