My truck came with black 6in running boards. They are nice, but Im not sure I like how they look. They make the truck look lower to me. Im thinking about removing them. I would want to get some decent mud flaps though to help keep the truck clean. Does anyone have any input on decent mud flaps? They don't need to be huge, but need to function.

Anyone interested in the running boards?

The standard size truck beds make the trucks look significantly longer which in turn makes them look lower.  Add running boards to the mix and they look even lower so I completely see your point.  If they bother you, remove them and add a tight fitting running board or just leave them off.  You can always do a suspension lift to get the looks you want as well.  I don't have a suggestion on the mud flaps, I'm curious to see what others chime in with.  Love the color by the way!

Yeah I’m thinking I’ll probably remove and just leave them off. I never wished I had them on my old truck.
back at ya on the color!!

Not only does it make look low it really lower cause now they will hinder ground clearance. I had them on one of my 2500HD yeah they did make it easier to get in but damn I would bang my shin on the bars opening the door to get something out without getting in.

l pulled them off tonight. It looks so much better without them. Ill be in the market for a good set of flaps to protect the paint. If anyone is in the market for running boards ill let em go cheap!

I took off the 6" boards on my AT4. Too low, and the mounting brackets impacted on break over angle while off road. Went with the new 2021 off road steps, and love them. Over 2" more ground clearance, and my kids can still climb in. They Also protect the doors from another car door opening into mine.f420e698233ac8780369c6ca26cee823.jpg8b14e02a2951938569d0e4028e7e92d3.jpg

I am thinking of these, my only hesitation is they don't seem that much bigger than what's already there from GM

I replaced the stock Denali guards with what I call the X31 style guards. Don't know what models come with them, but it seems all X31's do.

Never mind, I see you have the x31 badges. I was paying attention to MG386 pictures when I posted.

Yeah I have those. That’s the problem. They aren’t really any smaller than what’s available aftermarket. Guess I’ll just roll with it for a while ??‍♂️

I just installed the same boards, do you know what the torque specs were for the bolts? Mine didn’t come with paperwork.

I just cranked them down tight, I couldn't find a torque spec.
