When rotors and pads are the same size, swept area, then any change in braking performance comes from a change is the friction coefficient between those surfaces and it is a trade, grip and pedal for fade and dust. If you want more bite with the same wear, dust and fade you need more swept area.

Brakes stop wheels/tires and tires stop trucks. When you add wheel/tire combinations that have more flywheel mass it takes more energy dissipation even for the same total mass of the vehicle and road speed.

One item to look at is shock valving. You can really stop that pony short if it isn't diving taking bite out of the rear and overwhelming the front. Naturally grippier tires help as well.

If you can get the ABS twitchy hitting the pedal hard you have enough brake, you need more ground grip. If not  you need more rotor grip. If you drive like that allot you will need a bondsman. ?

I just did all 4 corners with the power stop z36 kit and have been very happy. We also flushed the fluid and the brakes feel better than the day I bought the truck.

Hi Papageoff- just wondering, did you find any of the bleeders seized with rust when you performed your flush?  I have a 2016, as does my buddy, and he did a brake flush and was surprised that the some of the bleeders were fairly rusted. I'm do for breaks soon and want to do a flush while I'm at it and nothing worse than dealing with rusted bleeders.

I ended up ordering the pursuit vehicle police pads and rotors from rock auto. I should have them by Wednesday hopefully. I was having a tough time finding a place that sells the k36’s. Every time I tried to order some, they would say the product doesn’t fit my vehicle

Just ordered some EBC rotors they are about the only rotors I can smash on in the hills and not warp....priceless!

I used Napa fleet pads and their reactive one slotted rotors. They work great, obviously more dust with a metalic pad. The reactive one rotors have slots in them. Used them on my 04 and they made a world of difference. Not as much of an improvement on my 15, because the brakes are better from the factory. The best part is they're locally available and easy to warranty.

I'm sorry I thought I replied to this.

No none of my bleeders were seized. I've been there though. Snapping one of those bad boys is the start of a long afternoon.

yes, i had the green stuff on an old B-body chevy and those pads never faded, but where noisy , only thing more annoyinging is slotted rotors buzzing under hard braking

I ended up going with the AC Delco police pv pads and rotors. Shipped for $700 Canadian. Dealership wanted $1400. Being metallic, they do as some of you mentioned generate a ton of brake dust compared to the ceramic. I am quite happy with them though. I still have yet to really give them a work out. I’m still breaking them in

I like them. Aside from having to clean my wheels every other day🙄. But they stop well. They’ve let me know that they’re better than stock

I’ll have a look for the part numbers. I got them from someone on here. Can’t remember who. I got pads and rotors for both front and rear

    • Some clarification may help with some of these issues.   - Rev Industries is/was the division of BAK (now Realtruck) that makes covers under the OEM names.  So if you see one with a Ford logo on it, or if you are buying the GM Accessories cover, you are essentially buying a BAK G2 cover with different branding.   - Rev Industries now markets under RealTruck "Advantage."   - As of May 1, 2025, the Advantage covers now have a 5 year warranty.  Anything before that was a 36/36K warranty.   - Parts for the covers are available from Realtruck or BAK.  The email address to reach them is [email protected] or you can call them at 818-365-9000   - If the entire cover has to be replaced, you have to go through your local GM dealer.  Service dept opens an RO, notes the damage and submits it as a warranty claim.  Keep your paperwork handy so they can confirm when you purchased it and it's within the warranty timeframe.  Once the warranty claim is approved, Parts orders the replacement cover.  When it arrives at the dealership, service will remove and install the new one for free as labor is included under warranty.   - The Advantage covers are not the latest and greatest Gen 3 covers.  They still use the old school clamps, elevator bolts, etc...If you want the newer technology, consider buying your cover in the aftermarket world.  That way, if you have an issue you can deal directly with the manufacturer.   - Finally, RealTruck has a program with many of their authorized dealers that doubles the warranty to 10 years if the authorized dealer does the install.     Hope this helps.
    • Welcome to the group!  My '22 just crossed 150K miles.  Runs perfectly.  Oil pump belt will be done in the next 30 days or so and onward hopefully for another 150K.  Love the truck.
    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!
