I recently purchase a 2014 GSM Sierra 5.3L and the engine is extremely noisey. From what I have been told I am hearing a combination of noise coming from the oil pump(sounds like a whining power steering pump) and the ticking of the high pressure fuel pump. Is there any thing that can be done to quiet them. Trucks sounds like a diesel at idle.

No, not really.

The HPFP is loud and so are the direct injectors, can't really stop that. You could try some better oil like Amsoil to see if it makes the lifters and oil pump less loud.

Recording a video may help, but usually it is not noisy unless some problems are there.
I agree with camGTP, change the oil brand or even different viscosity if you use the vehicle as heavy use.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to have someone take a look at it

Have the vacuum pump checked as well, another known part to fail on the early K2"s.
