mychevrolet app

Hello all, I'm very new here as I recently purchased my first Chevy in 25 years.  I ave been reading these posts for a few weeks and learned a ton about my truck, so thank you for that.  I'm trying to get te mychevrolet app to work but it won't let me register my truck  I'm guessing, because I am not the first owner.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should doo to get it to work?

I'd probably start with opening the app, creating an account, and pressing the "..." button in the upper right corner for assistance. Just a suggestion. Not exactly sure what your issue is so maybe starting there will help.

Go to the my chev web site on a computer and register. Then log into the app and it should work. 

FWIW the latest version of the app is buggy and poorly designed. Now you have to hold and hold and hold down on the lock/start/unlock to get them to work. Developer should be fired.

Yes the new version has issues. I have the GMC app (same thing) The press and hold keep holding is annoying. I can’t get Face ID to work. Always asks for my pin.

Try logging out and then back in.  This worked for me.

It should still work with a pre-owned vehicle. I got one to work. When my wife bought a new one this winter it automatically showed up in my account, I didn't even have to do anything.

 

As others have said, set up your account online first.

If you bought a used truck, you get what, 1 month free trial?

Don't get too attached to the app unless you plan on paying $15 a month for remote features, or more if you actually want to use onstar. They don't offer anything your phone can't already do for free.

 

my opinion, you're not missing out on much. I'd just move on.

I'm glad something worked. My other suggestion was take the phone and throw it against the wall. But, phone are expensive so I hesitate to post that alternative.

I had to uninstall the app then reinstall it. Worked then. The new version is lame.
