Transmission skid plate 2021 RST Z71 1500

Should my 2021 Z71 RST 1500 have came with a transmission skid plate? The reason I ask is I accidentally dropped it on a rock and punctured the transmission pan. Then the tow company did another $9500 in damages to the truck while "recovering" the truck...

No, there is no transmission skid plate on any of the Silverado or Sierra models.

Sorry to hear this. I checked the build sheet for my 2021 LTZ Z71 and it was not clear. Says 'skid plates', which is plural. So more than one.

Yup.  There are two  Engine and transfer case.  I wouldn't plan on doing much skidding on either, though.

Here is a pic of my transfer case skid plate if that helps. Looks like a 'one time use' one, at best.

You will also need the nuts and bolts, 

3x 11589164

3x 22531616 

 

No trans skid plate at this time, possibly on aa ZR2?

No.  Only transfer case and engine.

They also count the plastic shield as a "skid plate."  Skid plate against frogs I suppose.

 Born on date was June 13th 1966. It's a late build.

Be mindful, the transfer case shield bends very easily.  After high centering my truck on a dirt mound one afternoon, I crawled under it at the house to look for damage and found the transfer case skid plate was bent upwards and the lip/edge was pressing into the transfer case snout.  I bent the "skid plate" back down to its original orientation with one hand, that should tell you how strong they aren't.  I would replace them immediately with something better if there were any affordable options.
