the stock size i think was 265/70R17
I need to buy new tires and was just wondering if i can just get the 275/65R18 tires, or if this is bad and maybe the owner messed up something by putting on the bigger wheels?

i don't know if it has a lift or anything, can't really tell.

i attached a picture if it's helpful at all.

The actual tire size (what it should be) is noted on a label inside the drivers door jam.

Assuming your sizes noted are correct, the difference is negligible.

Welcome to the site.

You will be fine, those are just a set of factory take offs from a 2010 Silverado/Tahoe. Basically same size as the 17's.

Those rims look good on that truck. The truck looks stock, so if I were you id just keep it as is and replace the tires per normal.

The size of the stock tires the truck came with is (or should be) listed in the driver's door jam on a Max Load rating sticker.

Find a tire dealer that's a pro and trustworthy (maybe not a person in greasy, dirty coveralls with a runny nose and holes in his tennis shoes) and consult with them.

IMHE&O tire dealer's prices will be roughly within 10% of each other all over town. They make their money on the mounting, balancing and Road Hazard Protection. I'm a HUGE believer in Road Hazard protection; tires cost a lot of money!

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that as the ratio number (ie. 70R or 65R) gets smaller, so does the overall height of the tire.

they make widths in several aspect ratios - a 245/45-17 will be tiny compared to a 245/70-17 (i used that size because i have the 245/45's on my OBS since it's dropped to the pavement)

can't really tell if it has a leveling kit (it looks like it might though) - but it certainly doesn't have a lift - easiest way to test for level kit is to measure ground height just behind the front wheel well, and also just in front of the rear wheel well (providing all 4 tires are the same size and have similar wear) - if the numbers are the same it's leveled - if the front is lower by an inch or 3, it's stock height.
