Tooling around town toay in my 22 LTD High Country 6.2 with Borla Touring catback I got caught up in a  traffic jam with a little fast and furious group today.

I'm so pissed I didn't get pics. Anyways there were 6 or 7 of them. Right out the movie. Big wings, weird paint jobs, decals everywhere .😄

Road construction, 3 lanes were reduced to 1 for a 1/2 mile. 2 of the cars were in front of me. The rest were behind me. Bunch of Jackasses redlining  there turbo setups with fart cans.

As soon as the cones ended it was 4 lanes wide.

The first two took off and it was game on. I could never catch them.

The rest were in my rearview instantly.

They never caught me when I let off at 95 mph.

BTW 0 to 95 was pretty swift.

The 6.2 ten speed 3.23 combo, with no speed limiter, the right tires and driveshaft that won't explode.  I think these trucks could easily top out around 150+ mph. You could tell there was a lot left. The last 10 -15 mph might take a while because of its brick like front end though.

Anyways it was fun showing these youngsters that the Bowtie don't Fukk around.

Mine pulls hard all the way till the 112mph cutoff. Wish it didn't have that so I could see where it tops out at. I'm not paying $500+ for a pulsar to get rid of it. Too many oddities with the Pulsar for me to want to spend the money. Still hoping for a good tune option. The HP Tuners hack isn't for me either.

There are days I miss my Camaro with the 6.2L. I opted for the 5.3 because I didn't want to pay for premium lol. Its OK though it has helped me not be as bad as I was in the car. Not a lot but some.

Take it to the track and enjoy the power.

She's gone. I traded her for the truck :). I am indeed happy I did though. I have really always needed one with a large family. Now I never have to have things delivered to get it here, I can just get it myself.

I meant the truck!  Take the truck to the track and have some fun with it.  Let that glorious V8 stretch its legs for a quarter mile.

Yeah these prices are retarded. I told my wife I think its more to break the middle class than anything else. I miss it taking less than $20 to fill up my ride lol. We had a budget of about $300 a month for the two vehicles we have now its up to $600. I think I need to find a remote job so I can use less gas for work and more for fun lol.

When I went from my 5.3 Silverado to my wife's 6.2 Tahoe I was so impressed. The power was there but with a little self control you could get mid 20s MPG on the highway.

I traded my 5.3 Silverado for a Ram TRX. HOLY ******. First time I did 0-60 I actually let off the gas early. I had an even bigger oh ****** moment the other day when I got gas for it. 33 gallon tank of premium and I get 9-11 MPG. Its a thrilling ride on the streets and at the gas pump. My 5.3 was only getting 13 MPG thanks to the tires and my desired to hear the exhaust. But at least it was 87 octane. I have started taking my wife's Tahoe when I need to run out. Feels good to get behind that wheel again and not as painful at the pump.

Perhaps I should have waited for the refreshed Silverado.

Just install a 2 piece drive shaft. Then you don’t have to worry about exceeding it’s critical speed (other failures notwithstanding).

    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
    • Correct.  2019-2021 model years are serviced by a different p/n.  19420611.  Recall 2021s use 19420611.   The recall engines 2022-2024 model years are serviced with 12740076.     The difference between 19420611 and 12740076 is GM changed injector size for 2022.  The injectors are smaller on 12740076 with smaller injector bores in the cylinder heads to match the smaller injectors.  So you can't install a 19420611 in a 2022-2024, and you can't install a 12740076 in a 2019-2021.     Both engines are the replacement engine p/ns that are in the L87 recall.  So both of these are the updated engines.     Here's a version of the L87 recall with the p/ns for all the parts needed.    RCRIT-25V274-7075.pdf   Note it shows 19420611 and 12740076 with an asterisk to a footnote "Use the VIN and the GM Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to determine which part to order if two or more part numbers are listed for the same part, as it may vary by vehicle options."
