Looks like new 2023 GMC Sierra has a new color called Sterling Gray Metallic.

I haven't seen this color in person, although I think it existed in certain 2022 GM models.

How does this Sterling Gray Metallic compare to Quicksilver Metallic?

Or How does this Sterling Gray Metallic compare to Satin Steel?

From I've been able to find on YT its about 2 shades darker than Silver. Its pretty close to Satin Steel but it looks lighter.

23 trucks haven't hit the lot yet so can't confirm yet. Northsky is still the leader for my build.

This is a Tahoe but you get them idea.

That Satin Steel with black wheels is the absolute ******. Beautiful color.

2023 GMC configurator is up with the new colors. You can definitely tell its darker ( more gray) than the old silver.

Not seeing much difference between Volcanic Red and Wild Cherry.

Did they just change the names of the colors? When I was looking to buy my 20 the dealer had several on the lot. There were 3 different grey/silver colors. I'd classify as light med and dark. I went with the Quicksilver after having a 16 with Iridium metallic. It shows way less paint chips!

If the rpo code is different, the colour is different.

You would be very annoyed if a body shop used the wrong one on a repair of part of your truck.

Sometimes/often, the divisions use a different name for the same rpo code.

I don't know when quickliver was first offered...

Satin Steel and quicksilver were offered on '21 model .

Quicksilver continued on '22, Satin Steel was gone

Sterling metallic added in '23, quicksilver gone

WA numbers are the paint codes

3 letter codes are the production order codes

GMC used these names

Quicksilver Metallic      GAN   WA-636R

Satin Steel Metallic     G9K   WA-464C

Sterling Metallic          GXD    WA-130H

It is common for certain colours only available on certain trims.

It is common for 1500 and 25/35's to not have all the same colours available.

chev uses slightly different names for GXD and GAN, G9K has same name for both divisions

Silver Ice Metallic          GAN      WA-636R

Satin Steel Metallic       G9K     WA-464C

Sterling Gray Metallic     GXD     WA-130H
