Fuse for tailgate

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me what fuse controls the locking tailgate on a 2017 silverado 1500.
I get no noise when try to lock or unlock. I can still lock with a key. I figure I would check fuse first.

thanks

Yes, door locks work.

If all door locks work, you probably have a Tail Gate actuator that weak or just dead. or a break in the connection wire or the connector plug.

When I replaced my tailgate EZ-Lift torsion bar - had to remove the tailgate and disconnect the harness for the rear cam and tail gate lock, I forgot to re-connect the harness.
I tried to open the tailgate afterward and it was locked.
Re-connected the harness, unlocked the truck and the tail gate opened up as it should.
As @rav3 mentions, check the harness that goes to the tail gate - its under the rear bumper to the driver side (along with the tail light harnesses and the trailer connection harness - among others).
