Auto wipers make sweep at start up

Since my last OTA, my windshield wipers make one sweep when I start the truck. Kind of strange. Never did it before the update.

My truck does that with the rain sensing wipers. The intermittent adjustment range we are used to is actually a sensitivity adjustment for the auto sensor. It will do a sweep to clean the glass in front of the sensor so it can get a correct ''reading''. I leave mine in the off position until needed.

When parking, I've never left the wiper control in any position except off.

 

No sweep a startup, same as @repairman54 indicated. 

 

I'd hate to have the wiper sliding across any dust/dirt/debris with the windshield dry, so I'm not gonna try it with the control in 'intermittent'. 

 

 

Seems curious that they would have changed the programming...

I've had the wipers "turned on" (first click into intermittent) since I bought the truck and it never did a start up wipe until the OTA. Maybe pure coincidence but something happened. One good thing since is my Siriusxm now starts playing right away at start up. For some reason it would stay on "loading" until I changed stations. Now that's all good.

I agree on the one swipe, I didn't realize it was after an update but I just noticed it happening the other day and it did it again this morning.

Mine started doing this when I turned on rain sensing wipers.......like the feature but don't like a dry sweep of the wiper blade on the windshield.

Mine started doing it recently also and I have it set to the “auto” setting. Kinda annoying.

Must have been triggered by the latest OTA update. I've resorted to the old fashioned way of turning them off and on in the rain.
